To put things into perspective, the US sells almost twice the number us Aussies have ordered in total per month... according to Wikipedia, Ford sold sold 122,349 Mustangs in the US in 2015 (10,195/month)

While we are big hitters for our population size, our population is tiny compared to other markets. I'm sure they appreciate our market, but they're not going to put off their own local market which has more competition to service it
I'm talking more from a customer service and communication perspective. Yes their market is more important to them but they should provide quality customer service by just communicating better with our market. There has not been much evidence of that as yet.

Yes I agree, right now I find them non responsive which appears to be arrogant for the customers passionate about this car. I guess this was an opportunity for Ford to improve their image and they have failed badly so far.

Surely the ecoboost wait time isnt as long as the GT?

I haven't seen the benefit, will be getting close to Nov-Dec 2016 if I get lucky :)

How on Earth Flat Rock isn't able to produce a couple of thousand extra cars to satisfy demand in Australia immediately instead of making people wait for frikkin' 2 years is beyond me.

340 cars per day was a number I think I heard/read somewhere, and this was not at full tilt.
There are two matters that restrict rhd production -

Domestic market demand, and supply of rhd components.
Ford have never refered to the first being an issue, but short supply of rhd headers have been tabled a few times.

It would be nice to think that they could either ramp up production, or designate extra days a month for rest of world production......unfortunately it would seem that parts are not readily available.

They're probably doing _ok_ to lure people to the brand with the Mustang (even though a lot of the promo stuff on FB for the Mustang is really amateur!) but once they're in, Ford Aus is doing F all to keep them there!

Interesting article. I wonder if they will increase production with a view of getting more sales if they can get them here quicker. Probably not.
My birdie is telling me an increased allocation is coming into the Australian market.

There has also been recent changes to allocation to an Asia Pacific market.

That's all folks.
