Yea it's not the best and typically Google Maps will do a better job. I just use my phone.

Google Maps won't work when you drive through mountains and your phone doesn't get service. I took a road trip last summer through the Blue Ridge mountains from FL to NY and there were so many places where the phone could only connect to edge. Good luck using Google Maps when your phone can't connect to 4g or lte. I used to believe that paying for NAV was a waste of money when I could use my phone for free until I realized how much data is used to use it on a long drive, if you don't have unlimited data and you travel a lot this could be a problem. To me $800 on NAV when spending 32k plus on a car isn't all that much and NAV doesn't suck. I actually use it a lot more than I thought I would and I am glad I have it.

Just took a 250 miles trip...I have the SiriusXM Traffic update on my Nav system. Now that it is Spring...there is a lot of road construction. Traffic Update warned of 6 intersection construction delays along the route. It was nice to know ahead of time if I needed to detour. There was also a bad accident that blocked traffic for more than two hours. I was able to reroute to a slower highway but got through without stopping.

Correct. The SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link is free for 5 years.
The travel link stopped working for me when I declined to continue my trial siriusxm subscription.

I used to use it to check local gas prices... and it was always pretty accurate.

People may not know that new systems actually use Google maps. In my Accord, I just plug my Samsung S7 into it and google car plays navigation on the screen. It still needs some work to be better but its 10x better then the 2005 erra navigation thats in my 2015 Mustang. Honda's entertainment system is eons better then my Mustangs. On a Side note, Toyota is no better, the nav system in our Toyota Sequoia Platinum feels like its from 2005 too.

The system is a little clunky but I use the hell out of it.
Definitely getting my money's worth out of the entire premium package.

It's not a big deal to me honestly. All the functionality it had can be done on the phone faster and easier. It was still nice to have.

I'm just happy siriusxm stopped calling me and mailing me every other day to renew. They're annoyingly aggressive about that.
