My Whipple install

I've got the prep work done for my install. The upper manifold is off awaiting the shipment of my Whipple kit from Leathalperformance.

Question what did you do with the 4 pigtail plugs that were plugged into the back of the stock intake manifold. They are called IMRC solenoid and IMRC position sensor. The online instructions from Leathalperformance don't mention if they get reconnected to the Whipple manifold.

You will use one to turn on the I/C pump and fans. tape the rest.

No mention of these plugs in the online installation manual form lethal, it must be different in the instal guide that comes from Whipple.

Anyone else who has the closed airbox, did you have a hard time getting the filter in there? It's a really tight squeeze

It's a tight fit for sure.

The anticipation must be killing us both. I ordered my Whipple kit on Dec 17 and just found out it won't ship from whipple until Jan 7:headbonk:it's driving me nuts waiting for this thing. The motor is all prepped and ready for the kit. All I can do is go into the garage and scream...I NEED WHIPPLE!!

Well at least you have the weather in Cali to drive it when you get home, I'm in Northern Maine knee deep in snow and 8 degrees F to -20 for the next 2 months. At least when I get whipple in I can take my time on the install and the rest of the winter I can pet it, and then scream I need springtime!!

Any of you guys who have the closed airbox, on the intake tube how much clearance do you have under it for the PCV nipple? Mine is really squeezed in there. Pictures if you have them please

hmm thanks. i'll take a picture of mine. i have the carbon fiber tube, and it looks like the nipple is a bit farther to the left so its hitting that cooling hose to the left of yours.

Glad to see your back from England, seems your having some issue with the PO171 bank 1 lean code which I saw n your other thread. Any tech help from Whipple or Lethal on this, should be an easy fix.

Also what has been your impressions on drivability and hot and cold starts. Does it start and drive like a stocker aside from when the lean code affects it.

Thanks! Yeah it drives really smooth like stock, then when you step on it wow. It's driving and running great. I'm going to look for leaks to see if I can track down the P0171. I emailed Whipple but they are closed today. I'm sure Lethal is too. I'll let you know if I discover anything.
