My reverse sensor camera broke.

About 5 hours in on a very long drive today I stopped to refuel. Afterwards, got in the car to reverse. My screen showed a blinking screen...the bottom half is just blue, and the top half is basically a still of what I last saw when I backed into my parking space at work this morning at 6am. I recognize the parking space and the bushes and the early light of day. Bizarre. Now this is all I see everytime I put it in reverse. However, it beeps when a vehicle is passing behind me...so that part appears to be working! :shrug:

It still works but hasn't been quite the same. The colors don't remain consistent on the screen. This morning the image was clearly my garage, only the walls were briefly glowing red and green. When I backed out, everything adjusted to more realistic colors again. :shrug: I can have a vivid imagination, but this time I swear I was sober.

This Wednesday's 'Brake Squeal TSB Fix' dealer visit had turned into a two-fer. sigh :headbonk:

Reboot your car -- disconnect your battery for 30 mins to reset all the computers.

My service manager showed me how to "master reset" the computers today. I don't remember the exact steps offhand, but I remember it was easy and the instructions on the screen walk you through it. (I would imagine all this is in the manual.) You press several buttons and you're done. (Ford sends updates to SYNC in this menu as well.) Your contacts aren't lost, either; all you need to do is pair up your phone to SYNC again, if applicable.

No battery disconnection needed.
