I have my emblems blacked out and OEM wheels done and it looks fine. Would never put it somewhere it could melt though.

Personally, I wouldn't use caliper covers. There is a general consensus from mechanics that they are terrible on brakes and cause the heat to get trapped in the cavity between the halves with the caliper. They also look cheesy. A $30 can of G2 caliper paint will look much better and not cause potential overheating issues. Or for the same $100 the covers cost, a shop will paint the calipers for you and do all of the work.
I have heard stuff about the caliper covers before. I used them on my dodge Charger SXT and they worked fantastic. I never had any issues with them. Do you ha ve more info on why caliper covers aren't a good idea? From what I hear no matter what you do with CaliperPaint you are bound to get chipping after a few months no matter what. Sure you can TouchUp but my caliper covers went for 5 years until I traded the car.

Personally I'm more afraid of using a product like G2 on my brand new brakes and causing them to lockup or something from paint getting where it shouldn't or in some hole causing issues.

Just mechanics with combined hundreds of years of experience on the web. I haven't seen 1 promote caliper cover on high performance brakes.

It is pretty hard to get them to lockup or screw up if you tape off properly as the paint is put on with a tiny brush. The front calipers are nearly 1 piece surrounding and nearly idiot proof to paint. Or bring them to a shop, people have done it here and it's about $100. They will take off the caliper and disassemble it to paint so paint only gets on the caliper and reassemble.

Hate to hijack your post OP but wanted to show everyone what it looks like with actual caliper paint and not painting your brake pads. And I couldn't agree more that those covers look cheesy and are expensive. I paid $15 for the caliper paint kit and did this all in a day. Longest part was letting it dry.

How's the Plasti-dip holding up on the calipers?. I'd definitely consider it as an option.

Got mine done professionally. 3 Coats of G2 Paint plus one coat of clear. Brembo label thrown in for kicks.

One can only imagine. I try to tell everyone to get the caliper paint. Simple and cheap and looks great.
