I just purchased this levels performance race intercooler from a fellow ecoboost owner. Removing the old one was more of a hassle then installing this one .
This thing is huge compared to the stock unit .

How was the install? About to do the same install on my car tonight, also bought mine from another member. Only area I'm worried about is the part to goes on the hood latch.

I had considered getting the ETS intercooler then I decided not to now I'm considering it again.. Lol. I'm trying hard to resist the urge to void my warranty.

I finally got around to removing the stupid grill shutters the other day and I'm shocked at the difference.. the car feels better, it even sounds different.. the cylinder head temp is staying below 195 so far when before I would normally see 200-210 in my commute and even the IAT's have improved, they stay 10 above ambient when idle, 15 in traffic and drop to ambient when moving, I didn't think removing the AGS would make that big of a difference but man, totally worth the pita.

Now I'm really itching for that bigger intercooler Lol.. let me know how it works out for you, I know everyone says it's worth it but I still don't know if I'm keeping this thing long term, I still really want a manual... :(

Dkano , the install was simple . The bolts that is in the fender well is a PIA. The rest went smoothly .the hood latch just gets spaced out about a 1/4 inch , nothing major .

AR306- The car seemed more responsive ( like it wasn't being choked down ) between the AGS and the cluttered factory grille openings , I believe those two things are a big restriction on these cars

Yeah that's what I'm looking for.. I may have to get that Intercooler after all.. then I'll have to resist the urge to tune it Lol.

Well if you start with one mod you fall into others rapidly. Then before you know it your selling crack for more hp, selling the dog for a turbo etc.

However an intercooler and tune are peas in a pod. Get the most out of your money!

To those who would know, would there be any benefit to adding something like a radiator fan to a large intercooler like the ETS or Levels? Lol.. it's hot as balls where I live, some active cooling would be an interesting idea.. don't know if it's feasible or if it would just be in the way and disrupt airflow.

Honestly, I think that's the only real advantage to using a larger FMIC over a stock fit is that the radiator fan will help draw air across the core when the car is not in motion. I also think the Velossa Tech air duct would help quite a bit, as it will isolate the radiator hot air from getting into the air box a little better, and help keep temps on the inlet to the IC slightly cooler.

I thought about getting the Velossa air duct.. but it's over $100 for a piece of plastic.. maybe if it was carbon fiber or something it'd be worth it, that stupid thing is way overpriced. I'd pay $40 at best.

I'm with you on the pricing of the VT piece - it's cool, and I have a Ruby car, so it's nothing that is going to match my car (color wise) unless I go with black - and to spend that much on a piece that nobody will ever see...... I'm with you, about $50 would be my spend on it (in black). I'd pay the premium money for it if it was CF, too.

I've got the Levels Race Core, and have had the thoughts of my old Foxbody days when we used to run (IIRC) factory Taurus SHO electric fans. They were usually like $35 used, and think they pulled a decent amount of air too. Would be interesting to see if it helped drop CAT's further or not.

i'm with ya, wish it was offered in textured abs black plastic for an OEM look at about $40-$50. Cost is the only reason I don't have one yet, because i'd love to see if it helped much.

holy crap. I didn't know they wanted 119 for the VT. That's insane. That's MUCH closer to CF pricing, but no way for a 3D printed piece of plastic.
