My Ford Touch Screen Protector

Has anyone put a screen protector on their touch screen? I was thinking of buying an iPad screen protector and cutting it to size to fit the My Ford Touch GUI screen. Or is there one already out there that will fit?

Company is Lexerd...My Father in law has the 2014 Fusion and the Nav system looks the same as on our car..I will be doing this one of these days...LOL

I wouldn't be too worried about scratching the screen too terribly much. But a screen protector *may* help with the silly amount of fingerprints these things seem to attract. The good news is most things can be done without every touching the screen. Most, but not all.

Maybe it would. With all the touch devices I use, I don't even notice figure prints anymore...

I put on an ipad cut to fit screen protector. You can't even tell it's there, but still protected just in case.

Fingernails. I've had the car all of one month; I wince every time I feel a fingernail touching the screen. Your hand is reach downward toward the touch screen while you're driving, so unless your nails are shortened to the cuticle they hit the screen first.

Fingernails. I've had the car all of one month; I wince every time I feel a fingernail touching the screen. Your hand is reach downward toward the touch screen while you're driving, so unless your nails are shortened to the cuticle they hit the screen first.

To cuticle? Another Jimmy exaggeration I guess. I don't think I've ever had fingernails that go beyond my finger. My wife does though and her Edge screen is fine - save for the smudges.

Not an exaggeration; actually it was just me misunderstanding a word -- I meant to say "quick" but said "cuticle" instead.

The touch screen is in front of you and below you as you're driving, so when you go to hit the touch screen, you're pointing downward -- and you have any kind of length to your fingernails at all, the nail will hit the screen before your finger does. Even if your fingernails are only, say, this long, the nail will hit first:

And it's happened to me over and over again that I'll hit the touchscreen with my fingernail and wince as I feel it scratch against the surface. Admittedly, I haven't seen any scratches on the screen yet, but I keep thinking it's just a matter of time.
