So today I decided to take her out to work. 176mile round trip. Most of the road had been narrow, bumpy and lots and lots of sharp corners. Lots of stone walls next to the road. Lots of trucks coming the opposite way. Wet. Very wet.
So, it started at 6am. The first ten miles I was screaming at everyone driving to close for comfort to me:lol: Then I sort of calmed down and just started to enjoy the ride. Another twenty miles of motorway and then turned off onto single carriage way. From there I was mostly alone and took it nice and easy in the wet. From Crieff to Tummel Bridge it was getting scary again. Switched to Wet/Snow mode definately made me feel more relaxed but not too much though. She's a beast that need to be handled with a lot of respect and care. She moves around a lot on the bumpy roads. Fought the steering all the way. But enjoyed it tremendously.
Going throught the small country villages with cars parked everywhere either side of the road was a bit nerve racking. I was always aware of the huge bonnet in front of me and just lined up the centre line of the road on my side
Lining up the ridge on the bonnet also helps staying away from those stone walls on the side of the roads.
Few things irritated me (but i can live with it)
1. Lots of dashboard reflection in top of the windscreen.
2. Lightswitch dial reflection in the driver side mirror (takes a bit getting used to, whether you see something in the mirror or not)
3. People driving way too close to you cause they want to take a photo. White van driver behind me got so close i could not see his lights anymore, just the flash from his phone camera
4. Yeah cannot think of anyting else...
The good just outweighs the bad bits that I did not really want to go home. Just wanted to continue driving. Anywhere...
I did have a little booboo though...
On the motorway, a car passed me and flicked up something that was lying in the road. No idea what it was and cannot blame the other driver either. Was dark. Anyway, it and bounced of my car. Fortunately it hit the wheel and not any of the body. Wheel now got a scuff marks on three of the spokes. Need to get that repaired. No scratches into the wheel metal. Just the coating got scraped off.
