My custom toggle switches: Project for base model

I got the premium panel disected. The toggles are quite simple. Let me know what all you need to know so i can put it all back together to test if the electronics work

Hazard toggle - its just a spring loaded node that passes over a corresponding node in the body.

Second switch notice the diference in the nodes inside the body

If u cant see the nodes, the hazard has one small one in the center so the switch can stay up or down. The other has one small lump the keeps the switch down and a ramped nodes that wont let it stay engaged.

Very interesting! So they are separate from the board. Does the board have the button contacts or is there a switch mechanism on the board?

The toggle body pushes a contact that touches the board. The mechanism is solely for movement purposes. The nodes dont have anything to do with the contact. That part is just an in and out motion by the body of the toggle.

Thanks! So basically my toggles are designed function the same way as the OEM toggles. (this was by luck!) The difference between my toggles and factory is that these "nodes" are on the toggle portion for OEM where as on my design I placed the nodes on the button. That is the only major design difference between my toggles and the OEM ones.

Update!

Tier 2 prototype toggle has entered production! Should be shipping out by the end of the week!

Well the material is transparent but no where clear glass quality. It has a frosted off white appearance. If you left them unpainted it would certainly be unique! I would imagine at night the entire toggle would illuminate. The highest intensity light being in the center and then defusing outward.

A thing to note though: If you want to leave it unpainted I suggest you research how to remove the excess support material for frosted detail plastic on shapeways website. The leftover wax support material from shapeways cleaning process will turn yellow when exposed to sunlight. (the actual plastic itself will NOT yellow)
