Looks great, also curious about the type of leather used.

Also how difficult it is to remove existing wheel and install new one.

Oh and I also agree a flat bottom would be awesome.

How much different is alcantara from suede really, they look too similar.
from http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/jpm/what-is-alcantara.html :

The soft, suede feel of the material leaves you with an experience of luxury and comfort that is unequaled by its competitors. Through its manufacturing process, Alcantara is afforded benefits that could never be achieved by actual suede. Unlike actual suede, Alcantara does not fade, is stain resistant, and will not bleed its colors among a number of things. Alcantara will not heat up like leather in the summer or cool down in the winter, making it the perfect solution for seating surfaces. Its unique texture also provides amazing grip that will keep you glued into your seat for track days or spirited driving. For these reasons, it is also a popular material for use on steering wheels.

Can you add heating to this mod?
i asked about this awhile back for a different car and i was told that unless there is something in the cable reel that can supply dedicated power to the heating elements in the wheel it would be too expensive to make happen... but then again maybe something has changed in recent years and it is possible

MustangCollector, great mod. Looks fantastic. I'm anxious to hear about your alcantara mod on the wheel as well as the alcantara mod for the shifter. Great work and please keep us posted!

Why couldn't you tie it into the seat heater switch?

Great work!

Wondering if you can use larger size thread &/or multicolor..?

Ever considered elongated grip design, instead of round..? On the backside of the grip where you would grab mid-finger.

It is finally finished and on the car and all I can say this has totally transformed the driving dynamic of my car.
I disliked the original wheels thin shape and cheap slick leather that just didnt feel sporty one bit. My wifes Jetta GLi30 has a thick flat bottom wheel which feels total bliss and i modeled my new Mustang wheel after that and an E63 AMG.

the most important elements of a sports and drivers car are the seats, steering wheel, location of pedals and shifter.

I took an original wheel, reshaped and padded and then re-wrapped with a new pattern and stitch pattern like the EURO cars.

I know this isn't a mod for anyone but if your a real driver you would appreciate this mod the first moment you hold it in your hands. its a HUGE difference.

I am willing to make anyone here a wheel if they so desire but remember it isn't cheap and its very labor intensive as this is not made in China.

PM if anyone is seriously interested. Prices will be equivalent to the Grant Air bag wheels for the S197 cars

also I have the full removal procedure to remove and install the SRS and I have two donor wheels in stock. I am making another now for a friend in Alcantara with a center stripe.

Wow. Serious props.

That's a factory looking job if I ever saw one.
Great work. Vision, talent, and kept it elegantly understated.

This is the kind of clean and classy design we'd like to see in every area of Mustang customization moving forward.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Mustang Collector you have some mad skills. My car is in transit now so it won't be long.
I will be contacting you in the future to get one of your wheels.

One question, does the extra width at 10 and 2 affect the visibility of the gauges?

Thanks
