Lol, this made me actually chuckle! It's almost like an argument my family keep giving me 'Why spend £2000 on a wrap?' - Because there's over 500 RR Mustangs in the country, i don't want to be another one... 'Err, the UK is massive Steve'. lolololol, Just us Steve's wanna be unique :lol:
Yeh, it will be a while before we see a Mustang round every corner. No, I just want mine to be unique thats all

So, after two months of ownership and 2600 miles, what are my thoughts?

Well let me start with the negatives...

So that's that out the way so I will move on.

I can honestly say I love this car as much, no, more than I did when I fist got it. I feel like we are beginning to get to know each other. I understand her and she is starting to understand me.

Driving fast in the wet

This is the only real issue I had when I first got her. Seeing as 95% of the driving I have done is in the wet, I was getting pretty frustrated that I could not go out and really have some fun. There was a couple of occasions where She literally scared the life out of me.

But now, I am learning how to handle her. I am beginning to know when the wheels are about to spin nano seconds before they do. I can almost feel it before it happens. I am shifting through the gears quicker, my foot seems to be caressing the happy peddle like a silk glove, I dont feel like my brain is telling my foot what to do.......it just knows.

I can now control the slide. I still sometimes back off a little to quick and the car 'snatches' back on the straight and narrow but when I get it just right and ease off the peddle and just control the slide nicely back in line it is wonderful.

Dont get me wrong. I am not driving like a mad man all the time. I just have the odd 5 mins or so when the roads are quite when I have some fun.

General Driving
I can honestly say that in the 2 months and 2600 mile I have driven this car, there has not been a single time when I have just got in the car and driven it. By that I mean, every single journey from a half mile trip to the shops to a 2.5 hour drive to Southend has been a pleasure, an event! Every time I am aware that I am getting in the 'Mustang' getting in something special. Never does anyone in the family refer to it as the car, it is always 'The Stang' 'The Mustang' or 'The Beast'

It isnt and never will be just a car!

Reaction form others
I still love every time someone looks at the car or talks to be about it. I find an uncontrolled smile on my face whenever I am asked "Hows the Mustang going" or when a stranger says "Nice car mate"

One of the best ones for me was yesterday.

Driving back from Southend I desperately needed the loo. Stopped at a dingy old loo at the side of the road and made my way in. I went in the first door I saw and instantly met two 'Chav' girls around 15 I guess.

"err is the the ladies" I said

"Yes" They said in unison with a giggle.

"Ooops sorry" I said as I backed out.

I was so embarrassed that I almost left but I was so desperate that I had to go. To make it worse they were hanging around outside the entrance when I left!

It soon got better though. As I noticed them looking at the car. As I started making my way towards it one of the said "Oh MY GOD, is thats your CAR"

"Yes, it is" I said "Its alright in it" unconsciously slipping in to Chav speak.

Then spent the next 5 minutes talking about it and taking pics with their mobile phones. Yes, its still with me before anyone suggests they were gonna nick it!

Gearbox whine
This has completely gone. I even miss it a little cos it sounded race car like but the whine/rattle I had coming through the gear lever has completely gone.

Fuel Eccom
Settled at around 20 mpg and I can get 28 to 29 on a long run (thats going by a tank fill up and not the trip metre) I am pretty pleased with that. When I was doing my sums before I decided to go for this I based it on doing 19mpg and hoped for 30mpg on long runs so its pretty much spot on what I wanted, no better, no worse.

work next week
So she goes in the paint shop next week and it having the following done.

Front spoiler, fog surrounds, side skirts and rear skirt painted gloss black
RTR side skirt splitters fitted (gloss black)
CDC Outlaw rear window spoiler (gloss black)
EcoBoost Genuine rear boot spoiler fitted (Gloss BlacK)

Paint shop has promised photos as they do the work so I will post them as I get them

Well in steveS, almost probably the only owner review ive read with no negs, didnt even have a pop 1 of its many flaws! Fair play, just goes to show some folk can love it for what it is than not think there paying for a german built RS or M machine.

Thats because I review it for what it is.
34K worth of American Muscle!

The flaws are irrelevant to me. If someone said to me a couple of years ago I could buy a Mustang V8 RHD for the same money as I paid for my Alfa 159 but btw, it will have the DRL's disabled and the handbrake on the wrong side, I would have fell about laughing.

My Mrs has many flaws, but I love her to death and rarely discuss her flaws with others!
Would I swap her for a German version with no flaws, less character and would cost me more? NO!

The hillarity of this, is that your last paragraph pretty much comparitivley explains the car in the shortest and best way possible.

Perfection isn't ever a thing, a car will never be perfect, you could pick faults in a Veneno, in a P1, in a La Ferrari, in the 918, in the Veyron, in a henessy Venom, in literally any car, it will never be perfect, even if you build the car to your wants and needs, it'll still not be perfect, that's the unfortunate complex of the human brain. But what we persieve as 'Love' includes all of the flaws (of the car, and in this case, the human).

Right enough philosophical cr4p from me, loved the review and glad everyon treats your car as it should be. Also, if you were scared 15 year old chav girls would steal your car, that's a bit on an issue- THEY'RE 15 HAHA!

Lift off oversteer (and the following almost inevitable tankslapper) is the cause of many, many accidents.

If the rear starts to slide, the natural reaction is to lift right off. This then proves a snatch of grip and the car spits you back the other way (into armco, hedge, or you continue down the road like a drunken prom date).

Ironically, in many cases it's actually safer to mash the throttle and spin 180.

Best thing to do is ease off a bit, this controls the slide and is the key to drifting.

Find a large, wet car park or better still a track or handling course and see where the limits are (which are obviously dependent on many different factors). It's a lot cheaper than finding out the hard way :)

Spot on!

I was messing in my S197 some years ago learning its limits, I lost it beyond control, so mashed throttle, then stood on the brake pedal, it spun on the spot, hit nothing. :)

But if the rear is getting away too much, the correct procedure whilst steering into the slide is to the gently ease of the power and as the rear comes back in line hold that power and modulate the throttle as required. :)
However it is easy to say this on an internet forum, typically what happens, people panick, let right of throttle and the car snaps back to fast and spits them off the road.

Remember, slow in, fast out and be smooth and treat the throttle smoothly, don't stab at any of the controls.

Same with cornering really, ideally with the mustang, you go in at a certain speed, because of how the car is, the second you drop the speed or mash the pedal, you'll end up going on it's side or slapping the rear end about, if you maintain power through the corner and accelerate off as you hit the apex, you'll be fine. That being said, I don't see many of us dropping a 50MPH+ pedal mash round a round-about
