My BAMA tune experience.

After almost 3 months owning the SCT X4 from BAMA, I gave up. Many datalogs and revisions just to find out that my car only do ~220WHP and ~250WTQ from the dynojet. I was shocked and the shop was shocked.

before the tune with no mods I was able to beat a stock 2015 WRX easy. With the tune and bolts on I lost to a tuned 2015 WRX bad. He didnt need to shift out of third to dust me. I couldnt even break 14s on track app for 1/4 after many tries. I was blinded by the word "tuned" and thought my car was running better. The only thing it was better was the 2mpg.

I called and they blamed my car got a leak somewhere. I smoked test the car and no leaks. I called back to report there is no leaks and now they ask for the dyno results when they told me it would do them no good the first time. Seriously? If your customer call you and tell you they it is your tune, you need to man up and figure out why. I'm done. I was considering selling the X4 and go with Adam tune or maybe Lund but I met another ecoboost. The dude was on Unleashed tune. He lets me drive his car and it felt great for a car with just the tune. Guess what? he beat me in 30 and 40 rolls. stock tune EB (HIM) vs Mods no tune EB (ME). The price range is nice atm just for getting something better than BAMA tune.

Stay away from BAMA, no wonder why they havent show anything else for the EB.

I know I rant but I need to lets people know before they make the same mistake.

Thanks for the heads up...I was seriously considering BAMA to go with my Airaid CAI...Unleashed at the top of the list now.

The good thing is you already have the x4 so you can just pay the $150 for tuning from Torrie at unleashed, otherwise you will have to buy the accessport for $500.

Since you already have the X4, I would definitely get a tune from Torrie. He will at least get the car running right then you can decide your future upgrade path.

And another thing is Torrie communication is awesome. Very fast and promptly. Bama take a day or 2.

+1 on Adam (tune+). Just put his tune on my car today. Runs very stong and good. I was initially impressed with the OTS Cobb tune, but adams tune just takes it to the next level and feels more refined. I haven't even had the final tweak done from datalogs I have to send him but so far I'm very impressed. Definitely gonna be purchasing his e-tune package once I start putting on some more mods.

I just installed the tune from Torrie and I can feel the different. Time to datalog and refine the tune when the weather permit.

I left Bama for Torrie in August. I never data logged my tune from Torrie, pre FMIC, and it blew the doors off my revised Bama tunes. Should have went unleashed from the beginning.

I got suckered by not going into a forum like this and going off you tube video's and friends of mine who all run V8's and some run nice Bama tunes. Everyone was like spent that $800 on a Bama tune Airaid combo. Should have just spent the money going with Torrie or Adam and put the rest towards my FMIC. I could have gone a lot faster a lot sooner.

Torrie is an incredible tuner who doesn't get as much recognition because he uses SCT. To me it is simple, Torrie for X4 and Adam for AP.

I fully agree that both are the best for each device. I've Been PM'ing with some members who have had used SCT and Cobb and quite frequently hear the Cobb AP has better manipulation of tables than the SCT. If that's true I'd love to see what Torrie could do with the AP.

There's really only one guy that should be tuning the X4, and there's really only one guy who should be tuning the Acessport for you. We all know who those two guys are.

we can always do a lund custom tune if you are using the x4 device, no need to buy another handheld or anything

That's it right there. Torrie's tune is not only 1,000 better his customer service is incredible, I'm talking about email replies within the hour with tune revisions. He isn't going to ask you about your car or talk to you about your dog, he is very fast and to the point. He has sent me revisions late Fridays and on Saturdays....I could never get a hold of BAMA..Adam answered more questions for me than BAMA and I wasn't even his customer..
