Whoa, pump the brakes... at least bring a tank of gas first.

Are you doing the front crank brace for whipples?

Even though the 2019 has the stronger parts, my car goes in for the OPG and Crank Sprocket next week along with the guides and tensioners.

You may want to check Honeybadger thread about those MMR tensioners. I thought I read something from him about accelerated wear

Iā€™ll take a look, but these are the revised version that came out not too long ago.

I donā€™t want to discredit him at all, as heā€™s been great for the community and he is a wealth of knowledge. He does race the shit out of his car, which I wish I had the time to do, but I donā€™t. Even I did magically find time, Iā€™d never ever have as much time on the track as he does. That comes down to the pay-to-play factor- race cars go through parts like asswipe, and with the abuse that heā€™s putting the car through, he has to pull it apart every year.

Anyway, in post #1 he goes from saying everything looks good and the chains are tight to ā€œthereā€™s playā€ in the chains. Maybe I misunderstood him and I know he didnā€™t find out more until after he pulled them and found damage, but he did say they were right.

They do have a lifetime warranty against breakage, and Iā€™m not sure if that qualifies or not, and I have heard of people being sent the new part, but I didnā€™t read enough to know whether or not he talked to MMR about the problem. They might have helped him as the tensioner was redesigned which is why mine is not anodized red.

Iā€™m also willing to accept the consequences if my engine grenades.

i would highly recommend contacting him or reading his thread.......i wont go near anything mmr because of that

but are you also doing the crank brace....iā€™d do it as an investment. Putting extra tension on a crank pulley on an already ā€œshakyā€ FPC is good insurance on a 20k motor

I read the thread, watched the videos.

Iā€™m willing to accept the risk given that mine are a different design. Iā€™m also taking some of this with a grain of salt not to justify my purchase, but merely because these aftermarket parts manufacturers arenā€™t infallible. Iā€™d argue someone somewhere regardless of whether you hear about it or not has had problems with something no matter who makes the product.

Iā€™ll also be the first one to quote your post and tell you I was wrong because I didnā€™t listen to your warnings should there be an issue.

Completely agree. Good luck. Id absolutely do a whipple if there was a way to keep the front tower strut braces

Yeah, I havenā€™t driven the car without the brace, so I donā€™t know if thereā€™s a difference, but I wonder if Iā€™ll actually notice it with my new suspension setup.

Any additional pictures of those SV104s?

Been trying to find some wheels for the GT350 coming in, but Iā€™m not satisfied with a lot of what Iā€™m finding. These seem very promising...
