So i see besides the "official" Mustang Week events, there are others as well? I saw some pics from the Beaver Bar? Then one that UPR put on at some sports bar place, then the above from another restaurant? Looks like there is some kind of Cruise sport place all week?

Yes, Mustang Week has "official" events but then other company's/clubs have meetups.

Our event would fall under the second category.

Which works perfect for me. If im gunna spend a whole week in a Ocean side town, I gotta have stuff to do each night! Just not sure on renting a condo or just a nice hotel room....

I've gone four years in a row and have wanted to go for about ten.

I say a place where you can cook if you want too is the best. I did a hotel the first year without a kitchen and brining back leftovers to a non-existent kitchen was tough.

I agree...I'd rather be able to cook most of my meals myself. Is there a location of condos that centrally locate to most all activities? Ive never been to MYrtle Beach so Im not sure if its a huge spread out place, or a smaller town type. Average pruce for a week i would think is around 1000? or more?

It is really personal preference.

I stay Central/North Myrtle. Central Myrtle can be dicey (otherwise known as downtown). South Myrtle is nice too along with Surfside.

It's roughly $1,000-$1,500 for a nice place.

It can be more and it can be less.

I usually stay North of Ocean and 29th N or South of Ocean and 20th S or so.

Hope this helps and others can chime in!

I stay in North MB, Little River area, (friends with a Condo) and I find that area a bit slower and less hectic as downtown. The cruise down 17 can be a PITA with all the lights but there's a bypass that goes around most of the congested areas. Then again, just by cruising down 17 I found several meet ups just by following caravans of Mustangs.
Any dates set for the next year yet? (Want to get a claim on the condo!)

I stayed at a condo in the north end of Myrtle Beach last year, just south of North MB. I'll never make that mistake again. Higher taxes and you CANNOT set up your umbrella in front of where the Life Guard sets up their rental umbrellas. You have to pay the Kings price for the view. NMB lets you set up right on the high tide line, or even further if you want to get wet.
Screw Myrtle Beach proper.

I have never stepped foot in Myrtle Beach ever so my first time is going to be something else just figuring out how to get around, where to stay, etc. I look forward to going next year but dread learning my way around....

Study Google maps, but it's one long ass strip from just above Georgetown to the NC border. Keep in mind though that it is devided up with MB, North MB, and then they have the smaller communities within. Wendy Hill, Atlantic Beach, Litchfield, Garden City, etc....
Coming into the area, there is one way in from I-95 basically. Hwy. 501. Take 22 before you get to Conway or expect hours sitting in traffic and lots of assholes hauling ass between traffic lights and running into the car in front of them.

At one point Hwy 17 splits but joins back up just before NMB. As mentioned earlier, much higher taxes on hotels and resturants in MB. Stay in NMB.

Also, check with the rental companies. Elliot Realty, Myrtle Beach Properties, etc for condo pricing if you are staying all week. Much cheaper than a hotel chain. We use Elliot every year. Rates have increased the past couple years due to the economy rebounding somewhat. 3-5 years back we were constantly getting 50% off discounts for last minute reservations. Not any more.

Well after a little internet researching, I found one place Im going to try and get as soon as we get the dates for next year. Windy Hill Dunes, by Elliot. A first time trip here after about 3 hours of looking at the city map of MB, i have better bearings of where the "official" stuff is...and an overall improved lay of the land...hopefully. ScottsGT....I will certainly come in the way you suggested. Im coming from West Tennessee (Memphis area)

Amen to Hwy 22. That was a godsend when it opened in 2001

I'll parrot what Scotts said. It's near impossible to get lost in MB/NMB the way it is setup. It's only a matter of figuring out block numbers and whether it's XXth street N or S. The entire grand strand is Hwy 17.

My family has had property in Horry county between MB and NMB since I was a kid. There's no way I would have stepped foot in the grand strand after about age 16 if it weren't for that.

Wow. Myrtle Beach. When I lived in NC, I used to go down there and raise heck in the summer. That place was the first and last time I ever drank a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20
