What can’t be disputed is how much fun the Mustang is to drive compared with the M4 — and it’s here that the German car struggles to justify its price.
"Does rather well" is an understatement with a verdict like that.

BMW...nasty habit of unsettling the rear tyres’ grip of the road with barely a moment’s notice...driving along, minding your own business...various electronic systems attempt to prevent the M4 from spearing off the road and leaving a car-sized hole in a hedge.
As Mustang owners we live in a glass house so we mustn't throw stones so is there a BMW forum filled with threads of "Just lost the rear end"?

Indeed - if you read the comments under the article an indignant m4 driver has signed up specifically to disagree with the reviewer.

nice to see the boot on the other foot for a change:clap2:

I actually responded to that person saying "no this review is pretty spot on, actually" - since I have experiences in both recent M-series cars and, obviously, the Mustang. M4 is the better car on a technical level, but my grin factor was off the charts in the Pony. Even Chris Harris said the M3 wasn't twice the car despite its price difference. It seems to be the going verdict.

Finally. The review most of us have been waiting for. However, as Gibbo advocates, spend the same money on a Mustang as you would an M4 and you'll have a super car killing monster.

It's all subjective of course, but when I'm driving and see Mercs, BM's and Audi's I just think 'dull, boring' and smile to myself - and I've not even got mine yet!

I owned a M6 F13, good car and lightning fast.
Does not do anything wrong. A bit boring though.

I've upgraded to the GT last week, and im not looking back.
Most fun car i've owned sofar.

Sounds way better with a corsa exhaust too and its 4 times cheaper!
Incredible bang for the buck.

Only miss my heads up display :)

.........on winter tyres. Ford not trusting the journo + PZero combination?

Ian whu might be interested in this. IF (big if) Ford did see fit to switch out the tyres, it begs the question why and, if safety related, why that hasn't been flagged to other customers.

If safety related I'd highly recommended ford recall all current models and switch out the tyres. And if someone has already swapped them out offer them a cash value return or 4 alternative tyres as spares / some form of good will.

That's a big IF

Ford are not to blame.

In the UK there is no rule or legality that says you must run winter tyres in winter months. This is a government thing, problem is UK winters are mild so if the government tried to enforce such a rule that every UK car owner would have to fit winter tyres, well imagine the uproar.

In EU countries, Germany for example it is law to have winter tyres, if you have an accident in winter in Germany on summer tyres you in big trouble.

So in the UK we have freedom of choice, we either all stick with the Pzero summer tyre and just drive slower, or we change to a more suitable tyre, but Ford cannot be held responsible.

Freedom of choice. Well, kind of, we don't get to choose our tyres when purchasing the car as I'm sure most would not have gone with pzeros... Anyway, swings and roundabouts at the moment.
