In public car parks I only park when the spaces either side are empty, usually on the emptiest part of the car park.

But amazingly by the time you've returned to the car someone has inevitably parked next to you with mm's to spare :headbonk:

I don't tend to park in public car parks long enough for that to happen and if they're full I won't park at all.

Usually ones with kiddy seats in the back, sending you into panic mode and inspecting your car for dents

That's why I'm keeping my crappy Insignia. Any journey that involves parking in a nasty public carpark and it'll be a case of "Fire up the Vauxhall" ! :headbang:

Same here. Anything involving parking with the great unwashed means using my 17 year old 3 series.

I am ocd about parking spots. I try to find one where i limit another vehicle to only one side. I will nt park in the middle of two cars even if I have to walk a mile. But as another posted you can park in a spot in bfe and someone will park next to you.

Im currently inventing a product vehicle specific for door ding, shopping cart, hail damage protection. The other products on the market are just weak and assume all vehicles are the exact height/ door curvature/ dimensions to hit their little pads.

It's a real pain sometimes I am forced to park between two I will normally stagger the park so I am really close to ones passenger door as there not normally used as most people travel solo. This also leaves a nice gap to the other cars drives door so they hopefully don't ding mine and just leaves me struggling to get out myself but at least I know i will be carful and take my time.

I'd be interested to know how you get on with this...
I don't normally park in the marked spaces (where it is now), to the right of the photo, which runs across the front of work are spaces which don't have spaces mark and are deeper (front of the car doesn't stick out like in the photo) so I'm able to acquire more space while parking :)
