Anyone know how much of the 2018 GT is aluminum? I know the GT350 hood and front fenders are aluminum. Wondered about the Regular GT

Front and rear bumpers are plastic. Not sure about the fenders but the hood is aluminium.

Fenders and hood are aluminum on a regular GT or Ecoboost.

This is from an old article, but some insight for you...

So how was Ford able to shed 700 pounds from the 2015 F-150, but actually added weight to the Mustang? Three words; volume, volume, volume. The 2015 Ford F-150 is the best-selling vehicle in America, and Ford can better eat the development costs of going mostly aluminum with its high-selling pickup than with the low-volume Mustang. Ford does plan to expand its use of aluminum, but with higher-volume models taking precedence. The Mustang may very well be last on that list, just as it was the last Ford product to get an EcoBoost engnie.

Aluminum would also add to the cost of the 2015 Mustang, which has already seen a substantial price increase. Instead of using all aluminum body panels, the 2015 Mustang has a few targeted aluminum parts in the hood and fenders, shedding as much weight as it can over the front end. Along with fuel-saving features like active grille shutters, Ford is hoping the EcoBoost model could be goof for 34 MPG or more on the highway.

Alas, the steel unibody and new independent rear suspension pack on the pounds, as did Ford’s efforts to meet new roof-crush crash standard. There is also added a number of new standard features, including an extra five airbags, which altogether end up making the 2015 Mustang weigh more, not less, than its predecessor.
