If you want your transmission to last, I would not try this at home. Shift normally. Avoid power shift, speed shift, and 6k RPM clutch dumps.
I do all of this minus the power shifting, transmission still shifts like new. However, I did change to BG transmission fluid around 8k miles. Just don't force your transmission into gears and you should be fine. I am actually surprised at how this transmission performs. I kind of want to try adding a shifter and see how it feels afterwards, but the stock one seems fine for now. You know what they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

I remember seeing the transmission rated for 700HP somewhere with the Ford Perf supercharger kit rated just under the spec.

I haven't heard of "clean" transmission failures. But there have been half-shafts and clutch failures that might be related.

I wonder if the MT82 means 820nm of 600 ft lbs. The 6R80 is rated at 800nm or 590ft lbs.
My buddy have snapped two drive axles and the transmission is still fine.
Transmissions are not usually rate by horse power. I can put a 120hp turbo diesel that puts out 1000ft lbs of torque it will shred the MT82 like cheese.

I would be surprised if its rated at 590 lb ft. Tremec 6060 range from 430-650 lb ft. And the shorter the first gear, the lower the overall torque rating. Aside from that, engagement teeth may be a weak point. There is a few threads on here of people "losing" 4th gear. They never followed up and posted pictures, so we are left to speculate.

hey rob, am i right to expect those power gains with full headers, cai and tune? also our RHD mustangs had a lot of kinking off the manifold to compensate , so street fighter exhaust has corrected that as well. thanks, tom

if you run headers, cai, full 3 inch exhaust, a flex tune maybe run e85 you should deff see 450 to the wheels.
as stated above by others i think the e85 makes a nice bump .. if im not mistaken

I can tell you that 644 whp was too much for my mt82. 3rd gear bit the bullet on my drive home from work.

Everything i read with those mods seemed to be landing people, like you said, around 440-450ish. But it looks like his car is rated at 420 instead of 435. I could be wrong, but that may be why we're splitting hairs here.

Either way, if you do the mods listed in that quote, you will be a VERY happy camper with your new found giddyup

I've been on the stock clutch and bolt ons/tune for about 14k miles and then 4k miles while boosted @ 600rwhp and I've been fine so far. Definitely going to upgrade the clutch once I feel the stock clutch slipping though since I'm boosted. Only mod to the transmission I have is the FRPP Short Shifter.

Every MT-82 and every driver is different. Some have broken them at power levels as low as 600 RWHP and others like myself seem to be lucking out past 700 RWHP.
