Wanted to update this thread. At the moment, I'm experiencing high RPM lockout which prevents me from shifting to the next gear till the revs fall. The car shifts smoother under 3k rpm. I've swapped to a steel braided line and bled the master cylinder and I still have the same issues. At this point, I feel it is likely installer error or a defective clutch. I don't know where else to look and I don't even know how to convince the damn shop to either give me a refund or quit the BS and reopen the transmission. I don't feel comfortable driving my car at all!

Thanks, man. Wish I had the money to switch over to a Tremec like you did. I don't even know if I have a shot at the shop looking over their work or giving me a refund at this point. It's a pretty shitty feeling to think you just lost $1,600.

What fluid are you running?

What shifter do you have?

Factory shifter sucks. One day old could not shift at high rpm. Shifter Fixed that. Barton or MGW's are nice pieces. My Barton is quieter than the factory buzz box shifter.

BG Syncro Shift II fluid change helps a lot.

Clutch fluid as of 15 minutes ago. Looks full, color seems alright.

Whats all the black stuff in there? How old is the brake fluid?

Ford recommends vaccuum bleeding the clutch but most people get away with pumping it.

Factory shifter and fluid. I just find it odd that this happens RIGHT after the install. Just seems too coincidental.

I honestly don't know, the brake fluid is the original as far as I know. I have vacuum bled it with the mityvac a few times now.

Tell them you need this resolved or you will contact the B.A.R.

When you have the trans in gear and the clutch pedal on the floor, how far does the pedal stroke go up before the clutch begins to engage?

I can google what B.A.R. is but does it matter that I provided the parts myself? They were brand new, unopened parts straight from LethalPerformance.

I'd say a little over half way up. On occasion it releases right at the top.

look at a few supercharger websites, click Dealers, and find one in your area. Then go over there, and get their opinion. They should be able to determine if your transmission and clutch is good or bad.

If the clutch is engaging a little more than halfway up it seems to me the clutch is doing it's job just fine, meaning it is engaging and disengaging at the right point in the pedal stroke. Sounds to me like the transmission has an issue. I would start by changing the trans oil to something like BG product.

I got locked out of 3rd on the 2-3 upshift about 50% of the time when accelerating hard. Would have to move it back into neutral, then into 3rd. Had changed to the BG fluid but it didn't help. One of the reasons I traded the car in for an auto.

Yup!

To be clear, SD_GT, you looked at when the clutch STARTS to engage, not when it is engaged, right?

If yes, my thought are:

Was the flywheel replaced? If not, was the old resurfaced? If so, that could be a problem.

The synchros are worn (friction material at the cone interfaces).

I ran Redline MTL in the MT-82 I had in both of my 2012 Mustangs. I put 40k miles on my GT daily driving 9/12 months and every summer fully of autocross, track days and time trials for nearly 4 years with the only modification to my driveline being the MTL. I did switch to a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter thereafter since the stock shifter was becoming flimsey. Anyway, never had an issue with the 82.

I do realize the MT82 can be good for some and bad for others. It has had, and I'm sure it still does, have a bad rep for good and consistent quality.
