2015 5.0 with twin turbo. Car is custom tuned obviously. Recently hooked up my msd two step and have it set to activate with the positive wire on the brake switch. I tested it in neutral with the brake and it's fine, works good. But every time I try it in drive it sets the car in limp mode... What am I missing here?

I have a MT-82 so using clutch not brake but same principle. Not sitting in front of my car but when you start your car the msd control box should have green led and then when you press the break the led should turn off signaling activation (or vice versa, can't remember but I can check if you want). If that works then the other thing to check is to see if you have the plugs for left bank and right bank reversed. The car will run if they are reversed (runs with a miss). I always turn my advance trac / traction control completely off when I use the 2-step. Only other thing I can think of is too make sure you have a good ground and the 2-step is set low to like 2,200 RPMs incase you have the settings reversed (8,200 rpm instead of 2,800 rpms as an example).

Yah, red and green led - couldn't remember lol. Take a look at my pic, left and right banks use the same interchangeable type plugs (different wires). Mine are buried in the loom so I can't tell you if red is left or right bank.

I'm kinda on the outside looking in here because I don't have an automatic, but I have some friends that do. The DOT made it mandatory that all cars kill power if you are holding the brakes and throttle at the same time. It has to do with the Toyota sticking throttle recall. It may not have anything to do with the 2 step it may be your car. Did you ever try to power brake before the 2 step? It's easier to use on a manual because it uses a clutch signal and not a brake signal. Just throwing that out there...

I've also seen an electronic trans brake for the 6R80 that would probably do the trick. You could hold the car still with a button instead of the brakes so as to not trigger limp mode in the ECU. I think it's made by JMS. Food for thought.

Yeah I use the foot brake holding rpm at 3000 at the track and never have an issue

Ok it's confirmed its hooked up right as far as left to right. Swapped it around and had a horrible miss at idle and led didn't work. So that's figured out. Wonder if it's tune related? Those who have this, was your tuner aware and maybe he made some kind of change where it doesn't detect misfire?
