Had my Motorola MA1 for the past year (honestly should have returned it and tried a second one during the warranty period, but nooooo), and I have been having inconsistent connection issues.

Eight hour road trip -- Fine most of the way. By hour six, it'll pause, stutter, etc. (evident from the music + Google maps), and sometimes crash back to SYNC. Takes re-plugging it to fix it. Other times, it'll crash every five to ten minutes constantly, no amount of re-plugging it would fix it.

Phone is a Galaxy S21.
  • Tried a master reset within SYNC--no dice.
  • Tried re-pairing my phone + master reset--no dice.
  • Tried different versions of Android Auto from Jan. 2022 through today--no dice.
  • Tried resetting my phone + master reset + pairing--no dice.

I thought it would be thermals. It's only a 2.5W unit, but I tried anyway. Opened it up, and tried with only thermal paste + thermal pads to try kicking heat to the plastic enclosure faster. No dice.
Purchased two custom heatsinks for both sides (what a monstrosity), still no dice. Cooling imrpoved, but same issues as above. So it's not cooling.

Currently have another MA1 on the way to test with and see if anything changes.

Has any one had issues like or similar to this?

I have three, two in Ford and one in Honda, no issue with any of them. Both Ford's installed in center console. Give the new one a try, if it works send the old back for refund. GL

Add-ons:
Phone never loses WiFi connection w/ the MA1, nor bluetooth SYNC connection at anytime.
MA1 light remains solid green, but starts flashing once the display goes back to SYNC. MA1 does not appear to re-boot.
