Ahhh...all those "XL's" <grin>

Any idea how often you plan to flush and refill the transmission fluid for the track, Tom? Yet another expense it seems.
I was looking at the maintenance interval. I was shocked to see nothing about transmission fluid mentioned for track use. Oil, differential fluid, but nothing about transmission in the context of the track........ That is odd. It is essentially a manual transmission, so why not have the same interval as the GT350 for example. The fluid is that much more expensive, but is there that much of a difference that I can use the car on the track and leave the trans fluid in there for 40,000 miles?

Even my non-track logic tells me the answer is a big ol' fat, "No," Tom.

How do you handle it in the 350's?

After every track event. Doing it yourself saves mucho dinero senor. This GT500 proposition will involve a call to tremic and see what they have to say. There is no way Im going all the way to 40K miles.

No, I didn't think so, Tom. :-) Do hope the Tremec folks are helpful and if you have a good contact number for the right folks, I can't imagine they won't be extremely helpful. They are no doubt very proud of this DCT as they should be.

But geeze, that's some hobby, amigo. You really need a shop with a couple lifts where the cars can stay until track time but be there afterward for all that work. My hat's off to ya, bro.

I've talked to them before. They are a great group of guys. They will give you unofficial information as long as it is understood that is exactly what it is, unofficial. The manual that is published by Ford is lacking and written for the general population of idiots. The folks at Tremec are enthusiasts just like you and I.

Thanks @Snoopy49

4 delivered, 4 to go.

I have a call into tremec on guidance pertaining to fluid flush for track use. All the manual has to say is change the fluid every 40,000 miles. That doesn't sound right for track use.

But Major, they're not very well aligned. <grinning> (I guessed on the departure rank.) ;-)

Kinda cool to have your very own gear grease with the car's name on it, huh? I'll be curious to hear about the viscosity of the stuff and, the color. Wait, what was the color of John's trailing fluid? Gear grease color if memory serves but then, my memory isn't particulary reliable. <yuckity yuck>
