Car is under warranty for 3 years, so it'll get sorted......it's just the hassle of having to book in, drive 45 miles for a 2 minute inspection....to agree to fit a part that'll be on back order anyway..:(I might pay a specialist company to do a 'survey' on the car as and when I pick it up. Shouldn't have to do that for a new car but seeing all the defects! Unbelievable
It's a strange one that's for sure.....the only thing I can think of is that maybe the upright has a sharp edge on it where it meets the rubber boot on the ball joint, and this has happened whist the wheels move left and right during steering:shrug:Why are things like this being missed on this PDI check thing, can't see any paint scrape marks so i'm guessing this was put on in this state when the car was built, do they have a huge bin in FlatRock that has all the defective bits in then they think oh we'll just stick them on the export cars to save us money.
If it's not causing any problems, I'd probably wait until you've got a few more issues (your pony projections will probably need doing for a start) and get them done at once, otherwise you'll get fed up with keep taking it back and each time it goes in, there's risk of further damage.I sent my dealer a picture of my boot, asking for it to be fixed under warranty as the right side sits a little higher and not flush (The only SLIGHT misalignment on the car). I'll wait until she agrees before I get the work carried out.
