As it seems to be a common question our price on the Ford Racing by Borla (M-5200-M8SB) Sports cat-back system with black tips is £1268.40 including VAT.

That's a price to collect from here - we can ship it on to you by courier if you're not nearby - let us know and we'll work out a price.

The Touring system (M-5200-M8TB) is the same price too.

Let me know if anyone needs any other prices

Dave

Do you fit too?

£1268 is a good price :). I only beat that by £20 or so, to my door mind, but still a great price

I've got my eye on the Roush SC at the minute, would need confirmation on RHD fit, but I would be interested in a price, supply only and supply and fitted @ Dave Jones?

PM me if you can come up with a price

Those of you who plan to upgrade the exhaust - will you be hanging on to the original stock exhaust ? It seems to be a one-piece unit, so quite bulky and tricky to store.

I'm wondering whether it's worth keeping at all. I don't envisage putting it back on the car ever, even when I come to sell it.

Are you aware of any good reasons to keep it ?

You may well need it come MOT time.

If a non-stock exhaust is louder than the factory-fitted one, it is technically an MOT fail and also illegal if an overzealous copper decides to give you a hard time.

Whether or not you get picked up on it is a different matter.

More of an issue are those shitty tyres they're coming with, that's a big expense.

Anyone have experience of Michelin's new 'cross climate' tyres? They sound like good allrounders but they're not available in our sizes, yet.

Might suit the needs of some of us though if they do become available in the right size.

I'm thinking of pulling the tyres off straight away and replacing them with Michelin Alpin instead. Dealer should be able to fit them FOC before delivery whilst not breaking the pressure sensors or scratching wheels. Only thing is that's around £800 expense on top of the car price that I don't need right before xmas.

I've yet to hear an aftermarket exhaust that is not considerably louder than standard.

They are not loud cars straight from the factory; a fact that has encouraged everyone and their dog to make their own options for them.

In the US they are loud but nothing amazing, over here it would be considered very loud, also not every exhaust is to make it very noisy some are to create a nicer tone

Shame there doesn't seem to be an exhaust to make the Ecoboost sound reasonable, realise its never going to sound like the V8 but it could do with something a bit meatier, without sounding raspy or like a ricer fart can.

I may be wrong but my understanding is that it's illegal to modify your exhaust to make it louder....:gossip:

However it's not illegal, to remove that exhaust, and fit a replacement.... The replacement can be louder (within reason) as long as it's not been modified to be louder... It's the modifying part that's the problem, not replacement, and there is no law that says you have to replace like for like..:amen:
So if it's louder just because of the way it's been manufactured, that's ok...IYSWIM

Let's face it, have you heard a standard jag F type?? They're really noisy, and that's factory fit standard exhaust:hail:

I'll ask my mate to clarify......he's going to help fit my Borla, and he's an MOT tester:thumbsup:

The same chap has just put a replacement sports exhaust on his Cayman....but then his car passes it's MOT without any issues for some reason:lol::lol:

The Jag is noisy as standard though.

Yes, it means a tester is unlikely to fail a noisy Mustang, but along with the police able to cause you some grief over it, it makes sense to keep the original as per the question.
