My window sticker says the fogs are led, now I know a lot of the window sticker items don't apply to export market but I doubt they'd swap led bulbs back to halogen

Looks like a normal bulb in this picture

You are 100% correct, the rumour going around was that those little squares were the DRLs when they are in fact just the side lights.
Whats the technical difference between DTRL and side/parking lights? Are the DTRL's always on when the engine is running? (Hence the 'Daytime' part of the title) or are the parking lights the only ones that stay on when the engine isn't running? or both?

Also, I'll be swapping my pathetic little side/parking light bulbs with orange ones to match the indicators. Gives it a bit more of an American feel. I'll keep the originals for MoT time.

Definitely thought about that. One of the guys on the Europe forum bought LEDs but they didn't fit through the hole in the light fitting so was maybe going to wait on the car first. I have bought LEDs for the side/parking lights however.
Had the same problem on my Chrysler and expect the same on the Mustang. There's an aluminium ring or heat sink which is bigger than the stock bulb. I'm going to wait and get measurements.

I thought the DRL are built into the fog lights like in this picture and the lights in your picture are just side/parking lights?

Those are just the front fog lights. Its illegal to drive with them switched on. When the car was running in the dealership when I saw it, those never came on, only the little squares, and the little squares remained on even when the main beams and side-lights were off.

@ benanderson89

Finally found a bodyshop (Sydney) that does custom headlight work. Superb finishes. They're able to install the LED DRL strip from DiodeDynamics on the RHD cars, wire it to light up the same time the factory DRL's would. Obviously removing the ugly stock DRL's.

Pretty reasonable price too. So I guess that's sorted now

Lucky!
I've found no one who will touch the Mustang in my local area - and I'm not about to drive all the way to Essex (HA HA nope) to get someone like 51st State Autos to look at it.

Page 46 of the new brochure "front fog lights - include integrated daytime running lights" and are marked as standard equipment on all models.

Weird thing that the UK Mustang DRLs look pathetically weak compared to the blinding lines of LEDs that all the other new cars have.

If that's the case then it'll be a relief - the little squares really were ugly.

You can always disable them too electronically. Remember reading that somewhere.
