So they did nothing to close the giant gap on the backside of the diffuser? That would of been a good idea to close that gap to keep the air from trying to pull the diffuser off the car.
Does not sound like it...sounds more like thickening the material around the bends to make it more rigid. Judging from the stress cracks on mine, thickening the bends maybe enough to solve the problem...

As one of the guys who bought into this product the 1st time, (also noticing the flawed gap) I'm willing to give it a chance hoping making the diffuser sturdier will keep the thing from shearing off even if its still open on the back side. I too am dying to know how much thicker the new version is.

Can we garage-fab some type of wind blocking solution so that pocket doesnt fill up with air?

Ive read a lot of complaints from members and im looking forward to getting my hands on a part to figure it out.

Does anyone have a pic of the underside?

Ask and ye shall receive...
This is great, thank you!

I am wondering if one can construct a easy fix using some coroplast sheets bent so that it blocks off that gap. The thought here is that closing that gap would decrease aero drag/parachute effect.
The gap looks pretty big though. Using the pre-existing fastener up top and some auto grade fasteners from the local car parts store for the bottom could fasten that piece nicely...Just a thought.

I want to get this but my OCD would probably freak the F out if I didnt address this.

Couldn't we just use some kind of good quality weather resistant foam to fill the gap with?? Trim it flush with the bottom and it won't be noticed, no more drag on it.

Totally, but what if you wanted to remove it in the future? Expanding foam can be a total bitch.

You would think for as much as we are paying or have paid for this that we wouldn't have to rig anything up.

not sure if anyone asked this. When the diffuser 1st came out, How many of the diffusers were sent out and how many were sent back due to breaking?

I see they have like 30 some reviews and only 2 or 3 people said it broke. So in theory there has to be like 25+ of the Gen 1/Version 1 Diffusers still out there on cars that hasnt broken.

The number of completely fine diffusers for the first gen is much more than 25! That being said, the guys over at MMD always do their best to fix issues like this right away!

**UPDATE**

That was fast huh?

I just talked to the guys over at MMD. They were indeed working on a fix for this, but after I stressed the fact that more than a few of my guys on here were having trouble, they turned the throttle to 100%. The stock on the site currently has been pulled and a fix will be employed ASAP!

As soon as the new product is up, everyone on here will qualify for a free replacement, regardless if yours had an issue or not.

Stay tuned, and you know where to find me if you need me!

-Will

How do you want us to proceed about getting the updated parts will?
