Yesterday i had to get gas for my car. There is a station near me that sells 100 octane race fuel. After doing some reading on how to mix octanes to get to 93 (we only have 91 in california) i decided to give it a shot.
My tank was down to about 20 miles to empty (i would assume thats about two gallons left) so i put in 1.5 gallons of 100 and filled the rest up with 91 (about 12.2 gallons) I'm hoping its around 93 or close to there.
After that i decided to take the long way home.
WOW is all i can say. The car definitely had more power and felt smoother in power delivery. The car never felt this good in HI despite using 92 octane but then again, the ambient air temp was not in the high 60's/low 70's like it is here. It felt like it idled smoother and throttle response was sharper. May not do this again for a very long while as 100 was quite expensive ($9.99 a gallon :eye bulge
But i am going on a road trip in march to San Francisco and if i don't have a tune by then ill be doing the 100 octane mixing thing again.
Just to clarify, this is the most powerful car I've ever owned and my 1st turbo car so if my observations seem noob-ish thats why. lol
