I just purchased a 10 speed procharged mustang. Everything seems fine when the car is warm but on cold start the car misfires for 10-15 seconds until the car warms up at a lower idle. There is no CEL but I have not checked to see if there are any codes that have been cleared. Is there anything I can check to diagnose the issue? The car has a fore fuel system and 1050 injectors

I have a Paxton but same fuel system, running e85. It does seem to stumble a little when it first starts. For me I think the one-way check valve on my fore system quit working soon after install as it almost instantly looses pressure on shutdown. The rumble clears up in a couple seconds and I am not worried about it.

I have a Paxton as well I just can’t break the habit of referring to it as a procharger. Mine has the stutter as well which I am fine with but also has the loud backfire/ misfire but only when the car hasn’t been driven for awhile. Also occasionally the car will stall on the first try but always starts on the second attempt.

Mine has never back fired and always starts first time, so probably not the same thing. Using Lund. Have you asked your tuner?

Not yet. I just got the car home a week ago and have yet to drive it much but when I do everything seems fine. I wish I would have bought a stock car and did the work myself so this wouldn’t be an issue.

Also, forgot to add mine sits a bit (no a dd). Often times it can be weeks between starts, so probably not a function of just sitting.

What about the misfiring/backfires? Could it just be the tune is very Rich and is dumping too much fuel and causing it to combust in the exhaust?

Try turning the key/ ignition on and off a few times before starting it and see if it still does it

I’ll give that a shot and see what happens. I have a video of it just not quite sure how to post it on here
