Mid-cycle refresh... when?

Any significant changes to the 16' would be a huge slap in the face to people who took the leap and picked up the first model year. I would be very surprised if you saw anything outside of a special edition color (maybe the return of gotta have it green or grabber blue) and maybe a few minor options/ accessories. I could see them offering PP on the auto as someone else suggested since I see no reason why it isn't offered already.

the 16 will be a more reliable 15 with minimal to no issues that can be traced to production. ie panel gaps, misalignment, water getting in lights, etc. I doubt any improvements besides that now

That is my main concern. Might as well wait until everything is sorted.

You guys really have a lot of faith in Ford. Why stop there? Won't the '17 model iron out the issues they missed in '16? But wait, that's only a year away from the minor facelift...should wait for that. But should I wait for the issues to be ironed out in the minor refresh in '18 and just get a '19? But then the full refresh is coming in '20, so I'll just wait for that one.

If you look at history, the S197 went from 2005 to 2009 before a restyle, then was changed in 2010. This lasted until 2013, when there was a new front and rear fascia different from 2010 to 2012. The SN-95 Mustangs stayed the same style from 1994 to 1998, then changed in 1999 and stayed the same until 2004.

It seems possible there might be a faster styling update, but I would not anticipate any major body panel changes until 2018. This is only my opinion.

SN95 had a pretty big refresh in 2001. GT's came with large scoops, all cars got different spoilers, the headlights changed, new "Bullit" wheels, traction control, cup holders in the console, the whole center stack was redesigned for the standard 6 disc, steering wheel changed, etc,. I know, pretty much off topic in this thread but i had to reply :ford:

Exactly. You can keep waiting for something that's technically "better", but how much is it going to affect the enjoyment of your ownership? When will it be good enough? Might as well pull the trigger and enjoy what you have.

I was originally going to wait for the 17s but decided I will get a 16 nxt yr. When will ford start offering the 1-2 grand worth of incentives? Be nice to put that savings towards mods.

Actually the year after release is considered the best model to buy because all the kinks of year 1 redesign are worked out and things they should have done or packaged differently are added.

i want to get the perf pack with auto, hopefully next year it will available and it will have a new 8 speed tranny. Im going to drive a manual saturday, i may just go that route even with 2 reconstructed acl's(thanks mma)
I am not seeing any silver mustangs in my area, thats the color i want. I also like the white and i want to see the DIB and orange in person before making a final decision.

I'm enjoying what I currently have, some of us are in no hurry. Some people like different things.Nothing wrong with waiting to get what makes you happy
