I've seen a few people say this, and I have to wonder... what kind of driving position are you in that you need to move the seat back to get out of the car? Do you have your chest, like, touching the steering wheel? That must be extraordinarily uncomfortable; how does that work?
Proper racing position is a lot more upright and close to the wheel than the position the average driver sits in.

I like the fact the power seats (memory) slide back when I turn the car off. I have a very long torso and shorter legs - a 29" inseam on a 6' 1" body. Literally the torso/arms of a guy who is 6' 4" tall, and legs of a guy that is 5' 9" tall. So I have the seat relatively close, but the seat leaned back a fair amount.

It's a really nice convenience to have the seats slide back automatically...

Patiently waiting to know if memory seat feature can be retro fitted to the premium package 2015 Mustangs....

I took mine in for it's first oil change (free) and asked about the price to add memory mirrors and drivers seat again. This time I was told it can't be added after it leaves the factory. It has to be done at the factory. I don't believe it but that is what I was told.

The minimum components needed to be changed would be Mirrors, Door Switches, and Seat Module. The memory feature is contained in the Seat Module but it communicates to the Door Module and the Mirrors as well. The wiring to all those components would also need to be checked to see if all the necessary circuits are present and I am not sure if the Door Module would need to be changed or not.

A pretty big tear up.

Edit: since the memory feature is actually packaged with the cross traffic alert system I would venture to say the wiring harness is not compatible.

Thanks for the info Dan. I already have the electric mirrors and seats so I would think that would allow me to not have to change the mirrors. Am I wrong about that? I am retired so I have plenty of time to do the work and a big tear up is not a problem time wise at least. I would sure like to see a wiring diagram for the remote system. Has anyone out there seen a wiring diagram for it? How can I get a copy, without pay the high price Ford wants for it.

No, unfortunately, the mirrors are specific to the memory operation. When you set the memory (position 1, 2, or 3) the module stores seat position (up & down as well as fore & aft) and mirror position. Also stored are your radio presets. I am not sure if ambient lighting preferences are stored or not.

Thanks again Dan. Don't know what I will do now. Still looking for a wiring diagram though. I still have lots of time to work on it.

I'm interested too, since in Europe Ford will not offer memory seats in any way (why, it's beyond me)

Been trying to figure out myself as well. Ford asked me to contact my dealer about it. The first dealer talked about a 1500€ addon as well, but my current dealer is ok with figuring out what needs to be done first and take it from there. As far as i'm aware the parts are pretty cheap.
