This is weird, but I can find 305/35/19 Mich Super Sport tires but not the stock size, 255/40/19.
Or I can find the stock size in the Mich Sport AS4 tires but not the 305/35s.
So given those 2 sizes, any recommendations?
Front rims are 8.5" wide and rears are 10.5"

305/35/19 rear and 255/40/19 front
27" baseline, but rears will be a little taller

Okay, let me try harder on this. I really want the 305 SS rears and 255 fronts. Is there a very compatible Mich tire to the SS in the 255 size? Let's say one with a similar and complimentary tread pattern to the SS that is not an SS?

So for example;

The 255/40R19 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 has a diameter of 27.1", a width of 10.2", mounts on a 19" rim and has 769 revolutions per mile. It weighs 28 lbs, has a max load of 1764 lbs, a maximum air pressure of 50 psi, a tread depth of 10/32" and should be used on a rim width of 8.5-10".
About $300 each with 45k mile rating
or
The 255/40R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S has a diameter of 27.1", a width of 10.2", mounts on a 19" rim and has 769 revolutions per mile. It weighs 28.6 lbs, has a max load of 1764 lbs, a maximum air pressure of 50 psi, a tread depth of 8.5/32" and should be used on a rim width of 8.5-10.
About $329 each with 30k mile rating
or
The 255/40R19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus has a diameter of 27.1", a width of 10.2", mounts on a 19" rim and has 769 revolutions per mile. It weighs 28 lbs, has a max load of 1764 lbs, a maximum air pressure of 50 psi, a tread depth of 10/32" and should be used on a rim width of 8.5-10".
About $290 with a 45k mile rating

As compared to the SS
The 305/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport has a diameter of 27.4", a width of 12.3", mounts on a 19" rim and has 758 revolutions per mile. It weighs 30.7 lbs, has a max load of 1874 lbs, a maximum air pressure of 51 psi, a tread depth of 8/32" and should be used on a rim width of 10-12". About $415 each with a 30k mile rating

Might one of those 255s be a very good match for the 305, tread wise?

I am currently running 295/35/19 MPSS rear tires on widened 10.5" Cali Special rims with stock 255 Pirelli AS up front on 8.5" rims and it has not been bad except for inner tire wear, which may be a toe issue from I have read here.
Keep in mind, no track days, just fun street use. Don't need to drive in snow, got other vehicles for that.

I think the majority of people that could provide that answer would be googling it. You may want to call Michelin or perhaps take a ride down to the newest Discount Tire or similar.

The Pilot Sport 4S would be a better match than using all season tires.

The direct answer to your question is no. If you are keeping your 8.5” front wheels then you are maxed out at 255/40R19. Then you will need to reconsider your size for the rear. Running different tires is a major no-no for performance and safety.

Go 295/35R19 and you have 2 choices. It may not be exactly what you want but it is what is available.

I am running 295s now but would like more rim protection and traction that the 305 will provide.
I have not felt unsafe or lack of performance with my current mismatch, which is wildly different. I appreciate the strict answer you are providing though.
265s up front seems a bit wide, though it was suggested by DT the other day to match the 305 SS, strictly.

Comparing 295s suggested above;
Contis have a section width of 11.9" on a 10.5" rim and a 10.2" tread width
Michis have the same section width and only a 9.8" tread width

Might this imply more rim protection from the Contis?

I agree. After researching a lot this weekend, if I really want SS 305s rear I would need to go with 4S 255s up front. The tread patterns are pretty close to each other.
Otherwise it would the Contis in 295/255...

So I ordered the Michis and they came in today. Saturday install...
The sales guy mind was blown when I said I had the stock rims widened to 10.5". So I told him you learn something new once in a while, lol
