Honestly I do not know why someone would FordPass as a regular map app. When you use CarPlay you can use Apple, Waze, or Google Maps. That would be enough for me.

Waze for the win. Just the cop locators alone is enough to use it.

Seri does a better job with maps and directions. Also tells the driver where traffic cameras are. I use it as a stand alone, no car play .

FordPass navigation is seriously lacking. Was not able to adapt to Ford Nav Speak.

Only usable feature for me ,lock car, check tire pressure (never correct) always 3 out of 4 close. & oil life.

No need for updates .

I think @Matthewstorm is saying he paid for the in car navigation and wants to be able to send directions from the FordPass app to his car?

I remember there were two things I needed to do in sync 3 to get mine to work. Make sure android auto/carplay is disabled in the settings, and make sure location services in on.

I love this feature. You can find a location before you get to the car, and then when you start the car it automatically sends it to the sync navigation. Also, it comes with five years of free siriusxm traffic plus. I have tested it against google maps and waze, and at least in NYC/LI it gets you there just as fast.
