I'm well aware that the intake manifold for the 2020 GT is already fantastic out of the factory, but I was wondering if there are any aftermarket manifolds or throttle bodies that are actually better for the price. If so, what kind of gains over factory stock would I expect to see? Or should I just port the factory manifold and call it a day?

Boss has higher and longer powerband as does GT350/Bullit. Would require tuning/lockout IMRCs. Solid 10 numbers with an increased RPM range

I have the GT350 IM (comes standard on the Bullitt). I also added a Soler Performance ported 91MM TB, but haven’t dyno’d again since the addition. It sure looks really good though.

I also added the MMR IMRC lockout kit, which will require a retune.

My TB was actually a factory 87MM unit, which I sent to Soler and had them port to 91MM for me. There was no tune required (although a tune is always best, IMO). During the short time that I ran it before delving into other work, it performed very well. While I don’t know if it picked up any additional power, it certainly wasn’t a step backward either.

I forgot to mention that I also have Soler’s throttle controller too which also pairs and works well with the ported TB.

Brandon at Lund was my tuner, but that was before I added the TB. Perhaps with the upcoming retune that’s required for the IMRC lockouts, I’ll feel/see an improvement in the ported TB as well.

What happened to Soler? Mike use to be on all the time and they were supposed to be developing a 90mm TB for 18+. Haven’t seen anything in awhile and Mike hasn’t been on since September.

I’m not sure, as I hadn’t looked at the TB thread in a while. Maybe try shooting him a PM and see what the status is.

Few questions about this. How noticeable was the difference and did you need a retune for the TB and IM?

The car was initially tuned (with the factory installed GT350 IM) after I installed LTHs. About a year later, I added the TB and did not retune. Having said that, the Soler ported factory TB does perform at least as well as it did before porting. I would guess there may be a little power to be had by tuning after a ported TB, but wouldn’t expect huge gains.

I liked the idea of helping my car breath in and out (short of adding cams), as well as it possibly could, which is why I later added a PMAS CAI and ported TB to compliment the LTHs.

@In5am0us, I do have the Soler Throttle Controller that adjusts the sensitivity of the throttle and has multiple settings on it. It can be manually adjusted by a small LCD screen or via Bluetooth from your phone. I like it a lot and have been running it along with my ported TB. Here’s a pic of where I mounted my LCD screen.

Yes, the Bullitt comes from the factory with the GT350 IM. I added Ultimate Headers long tube headers and tuned for E85 and the car made 469 rwhp/434 rwtq on the dyno. I later added the PMAS (no tune required version) and had Soler Performance port my factory 87MM TB. I haven’t been back to the dyno since then, but I would guess that the car makes a little more power now with the PMAS and ported TB.

Cobra Jet is the king of manifolds for N/A (besides some of the super expensive manifolds that go for 2k+).

A race ported boss manifold should also be a solid option.

Lots of charts going around that the ported 2018+ is the best manifold besides the cobra jet. But there are allegations of the people doing that shortening the rpm range to benefit 2018 so they could sell them more.

If you ask the hardcore n/a coyote guys it’s basically cobra jet and a race ported boss that they recommend. The race ported boss isn’t super expensive and you can keep the factory throttle body. Cobra jet requires new throttle body and a new cai.

Correct,
There’s more than a few tests not wicked out to the peak when up against the GT350 manifold.
It would be even more telling if the cam timing was published in those manifold tests.

As far as the CJ throttle body there’s a few 3D printed adapters to install the 5.0 TB & GT350 87mm+ TB.
