Love that license plate (acclerate horsey )
It is actually Accelerate for Cy, Iowa State University mascot. See the plates, they are college motive. That's a big thing around here. With that said I love how you read it!

Nice job Mr

Just one thing I'd say, and it's not just on your car, but whenever Eibach's are fitted, I feel that it would suit better to also fit spacers, nothing too extreme, maybe 15/20mm.

Just feel the wheels get 'buried' without that enhancement.

Overall, lovely looking 'Stang:clap2:

I like your idea! Now to figure out what to get and from where without adding rubbing or messing anything in the feel of the car. I would like them to be as close to the fender as possible.

Good looking Mustang indeed. And it's cool you did so much yourself. Well done.

- Magnaflow Competition Series Cat-Back Exhaust - Serious improvement. I havent been able to drive it hard to notice much of an improvement on performance, but as soon as I turned the car ON for the first time, I felt in love even more with the car. The sound is very bassy and deep. Very aggressive and not a lot of "raspiness" until higher revs. I find myself shifting sooner because I dont have to push the engine to hear it as I found myself doing with the stock exhaust. There are rev areas when cruising where it goes very quiet, almost as stock. I have yet to learn those well, so I will have to report back. Cold starts are LOUD. It also helps me shift smoother because I can hear the engine revving the few times I have the radio on. IMO this is how a 5.0 should always sound! :headbang:
High praise! We always love to see when someone finds the right part to help complete their vision for their car and we love it double when it's our part doing that. Thanks for the kind words!

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking around and reading all your great info here. I picked up my new Mustang on June 1st. It is a PP, 50 year Triple Yellow. This is my daily driver (weather permitting), but I only drive about 500 miles a month. After much thought I decided on the following mods (for now). They have all been installed by myself on my garage so I am hoping this gives people motivation to become more of a DYI'er if you're not. It is much more rewarding to do your own work IMO. Of course, having the right tools is 50% of the battle.

In order of installation, with some general thoughts:
-Clutch spring delete - a must. Shifts are much smoother. Dont notice any differences in force needed to clutch in after a couple of hours.

- Eibach Sportline Springs - Lowered as advertised, much more aggressive stands. I like it much better visually. Ride is a bit bumpier and stiffer. It doesn't have the floating feel. Overall and cornering the car feels much tighter. The Jeep-style wheel gap is gone!

- Black lug nuts - Looks much better with black PP wheels.

- Sto N Show front license plate frame - Easily removable to satisfy this dumb law. 5 minute install.

- Roush hood heat extractors - I wanted to have a bit of contrast in the hood. Looks better to me, again with the more "aggressive" theme. I also like that they have more creases, but I wish all the holes were functional. Install was OK. I didnt like that they make you drill. Why didn't Roush design using the same form and hardware as OEM? I also noticed when taking the stock ones out, that one side of the car did not have any nuts on the plastic holder. I bought replacements at Lowe's. So Ford, you owe me $1.59. Note to Roush, they include a piece of paper that tells you to go to their website and download the instructions. There is a needed template for drilling. Why cant you just make this piece of paper the template, instead of making me have to go print it!?

- LED reverse light bulb - 30 second install. Looks better when reverse light is on.

- Roush side skirt winglets - This is a very subtle touch. I think it adds to the look without looking to "racey." I debated on this one and I am glad I got them now that they are on. It makes the car stand out a bit from all the others.

- Magnaflow Competition Series Cat-Back Exhaust - Serious improvement. I havent been able to drive it hard to notice much of an improvement on performance, but as soon as I turned the car ON for the first time, I felt in love even more with the car. The sound is very bassy and deep. - Roush Spoiler - Ordered in black. Still sitting in the box. Waiting for Roush or CJ Pony Parts to send me the template. When I opened the box to look for instructions, it had the template for the side scoops. Come on Roush!!! This is a serious annoyance.

I had a lot of fun installing all these parts. The rewards when you step back and look at the results, are more than worth it!!!

Maybe tinted windows are next. Sorry for the bad garage pics, good ones coming soon.
Nice job on you updates, I wish I was more of a DYI guy. I had my dealer's performance department install the Springs and exhaust cat back system/ It took them around 4 hours, they also installed my Radar detector wiring (into the fuse box). Now all you need to do is clean up your garage. Get those bikes up off the the ground on some hooks, that way they won't fall on you car.

Hey I know you guys are the best and all, but do you think you could bump your catback prices back down to the budget of mere mortals?

We set the MSRP on our systems competitively for the very high quality that we build, which is of course backed up by our lifetime warranty. That said, our authorized dealers charge what they think is a reasonable retail price based on the market. Those dealers—some of whom you may find are on this forum—occasionally offer killer deals on MagnaFlow exhaust systems. I can't point you toward any specifically, but here's our list of authorized online dealers.

looks good! hey I noticed you're in west des moines. I live western urbandale. Do you ever do local events? Karl performance in Ankeny has Cars and Coffee every month. I believe the next one is July 11th. It'd be cool to see some more S550's around. I've only seen a handful around town.

I've been thinking about going to those but always forget the dates. I will make a stop at July's event. Let me know if you know of anything else and I will make it. At this point Im looking for as many excuses as I can find to drive this car!

Roush spoiler installed last night! Took about an hour and a half, and steel nerves to drill into metal. Looks really nice. Pics coming once it stops raining over here...
