If I didn't have to cut the header I'd be all over these. But $400 for the pipes plus labor at a muffler shop for cutting/welding and you're halfway to LT's....which I'd rather just put the $1200 and pita install towards a blower.

It looks like it necks down again at the factory connection to the catback. Looks like you can order it as 3" all the way through though if you want.

Have to agree, SW has a new header line out (Stainless Power) that are 1 7/8" and $595 without leads and $895 with offroad leads. A few hundred more and about the same labor cost and you have full headers instead of cutting and welding.

I'm not real excited about doing a header install though.

No ground clearance issues at all so that's nice. The shop that did . U exhaust can flange my old cats, but I killed the cats! Lol In fact now that everything is bolt on I could easily buy a used pair of cats and he could do it later if ever needed. Looking at 1hr tops.
What do mean u killed ur cats, they were burnt up which is not a good thing,or u just broke up the cats after u took the pipes off?

I think he meant that he roasted one cutting the pipes off. I think that driver side one cuts it real close.

It does look pretty close. Do you guys think a lift would be necessary to be able to get in there and cut it off and weld up the new flange, or can you do it on jack stands?

Unfortunately, Ford didn't leave us much of a choice than cutting the header. As far as longtubes, we make no mistake that for every last bit of power longtubes are the way to go, these are a much more reasonable way to get a good bump in performance for a fraction of longtubes. Checkout guys like Kelly from BMR who are opting for these as opposed to longtubes and making big power.

Labor cost for a Header install is more than double what it cost to install the cat deletes.

Headers:$1200.00(SW,ARH,Kooks)
Install: $600.00
Total: $1800

Cat Deletes: $399.99
Install: $250.00
Total: $650.00

There is a long way before getting to Longtube territory between the two.
Stainless Power headers are a great option due to their value, but keep in mind that value comes with a sacrifice. They are made in China(Stainless Works is made in the USA), and only carry a 24month Warranty(Stainless Works is a lifetime warranty.) We are stainless works distributors and love their products, but we know certain places were passing off the SP line as SW.

If I have a welder friend, is a lift needed for the cutting/welding process, or can it be done on jackstands from the ground?

If you can get enough clearance from the jack stands, I do not see why you could not do it on the floor with Jack stands.
