Trying to decide if I should go with the MAK cat deletes or spend the extra money and get SP headers. What do you think? Pros and Cons.

I would vote long tubes. The Mak deletes are good too but you have to cut.

I went with the MAK deletes. Easy to throw my cats back on should I need to for emissions testing. Easy install, 1 cut and 1 flange to weld...2 to weld if you get the shop to weld another flange onto the cat you cut off. Once that is done, it is a direct bolt in system. Sound is great and install and total cost installed was much cheaper than LTH.

It really depends on what you want to do down the road. I was in the same boat as you but finally decided to go LTH because I plan on using a blower in the future. The deletes are nice but the long tubes give you more room to grow in the future.

If I was going to stay NA or my car was a DD, I would consider the deletes more.

I do plan on going with a blower in about a year, i figured I could always sell the deletes at that time. Now at this time my car is a daily driver, why would you lean more toward deletes in this case?

You could, I thought about doing that as well but just decided to wait and do it once, then be done with it.

As for the DD issue, mainly because emissions. It's hard to beat the ability to swap back and forth using the deletes... I actually would like to see some swapable LTH in the future... Makes passing emissions very easy. I've been lucky enough to know some people to pass me with no cats but I imagine that's going to get harder and harder to do with the VW emissions scandal.

can always add cats to the headers. I know stainless power will allow this. it will cost more money though

I went with cat deletes because of cost, ease of installation, and being able to swap cats in and out if my county ever goes to emissions testing.

I had my car dynoed the other day picked up 32HP to the wheels on my supercharged car. I am not sure of the additional power available with headers but 350 bucks for 32HP seems like a really good return to me.

Longtubes in my opinion would be the better choice. Not only can you get into a quality set of headers for a great price you'll also end up making more HP and TQ with the headers than the offroad pipe by itself.

If you guys have any questions regarding any of the LT header setups we sell please feel free to give us a call.

Thanks, Jared

We went with LT's and HF cats. Even if the gains aren't massively different between the two, when all else is equal, they are still worth a little more power and better (IMO) sound. And, as has already been mentioned, a blower later down the road will magnify the difference even more. I don't want to spend one second looking back saying "I shoulda....". Buy once, cry once is generally my approach.
