Really depends on the condition of the paint. Best way is to do a test spot with 205, and another with 105 and 205 to figure out which result you want.

always start with the lightest cut in a test area.

Depending on the pad selection and type of machine and speed being used, M105 can get very aggressive on the cutting ability. It also has a VERY quick work time which can be pretty tedious work for a beginner.

M205 is a little more forgiving if you're just trying to correct light swirls. Times have changed in the last 4-5 years in regards to correcting compounds/polishes. There are many other great products that are much easier to work with IMHO. I'm personally a big fan of Menzerna products.

The M105/205 is tried and true. It's what I learned to correct paint with but with that being said, it wasn't fun or easy.

If you are a beginner. I would HIGHLY recommend Meguiars Microfiber polishing kit. Great results, easy to use and little to zero chance of damaging your factory clear coat.

+1 on Meguiars Microfiber kit. It really is dummy proof and gets amazing results.

Use 205 on a white pad. 105 / 205 is really good stuff, menzerna is better but you will pay more for it. I have both, menzerna is definitely easier to use.

I've been very happy with results using 105 & 205. What Menzerma products are comparable and how are they better?

I'm always looking for something new and better.

Thanks!
