Lund tune idle question

Does anyone know why Lund sets the idle at 740 RPM? Just wondering why it is higher than the stock idle.

No clue why, but they do. Some have said they have requested it lower, but won't happen. Maybe slightly higher idle to keep it smooth with a little more aggressive base idle cam timing?

Yes in fact it is.

My flex fuel tune was the same, had to get it dialed in a bit before they would lower it. Now its 650-675rpm at idle. While deceling the rpm would dip past the target idle and the car would stall or die completely. So had to do several data logs before it was good at idle for my flex fuel tune while the regular octane tune did not do this. Maybe Lund is the same, not sure.

If it's flex tune it could be for cold starting because E85. e85 is hard to start when it's cold out. E85 also takes longer to burn so maybe adding additional RPM helps with that. Honestly just email and ask Lund, i'm sure they will give you the correct answer.

This. I added 25% more fuel to my cranking fuel and mine still takes a little longer to cold start on E-85 vs 93. I also have my idle at 750 I like it better at 750 honestly.
