The dealer hears my car 5 minutes before I arrive. That gauge is just an added confirmation of a blown powertrain warranty :headbang:
not to get off topic but you got any vids of your sw headers and frrp sport? I'm sure i've seen them before if you do have vids but curious because I looked at your sig and wanna hear this 5 minute warning before arriving lol

I'm doing the shoddy camera work here and my wife is driving... I've posted this elsewhere on the forum (I really need to clean up my build page and link in signature). Enjoy!

I ripped out the chrome/plastic bezel that surrounds the A/C vents. I'm going to install the nGauge in the center vent. I've noticed however, that the vent openings on the premium bezel are a bit larger than the base because the nGauge fits all the way to the back. I'm currently weighing options to secure it, with black Silicone RTV being the front runner.

If I RTV it from the back, it will hold securely, but I will lose access to the MicroSD card. However, after playing around with the device, you can plug a laptop (in my case Surface Pro) to the USB port in the front of the device and update your tunes and firmware through there.

Going to take my time, but I will post some pics once I start putting the pieces back into the car. My car is currently in "Hanger Queen" status until Lund updates my tune, so there is no rush.

Looks clean man. I have the gauge cluster, and don't wanna remove a factory unit. I'll probably jus use the auction cup

I'm in the same boat as you. Don't really want to go the suction cup route, but may have to. Went mine arrives, it's time to start looking for alternate mounting options. Just not a lot of space to work with.

I did this to my STI. Pictured here is me mounting my wideband gauge and boost gauge to the roof (gauges are a little crooked because I hadn't yet secured them). Not sure if we could make something like this work on the S550

Now that's an interesting idea. I have a BlendMount for a BullyDog tuner for my Tundra that goes over the rear view mirror, but I don't think they have anything that can be retrofitted for the nGauge. I'll have to look into that as well. Was also wondering about some of the cell phone mounts that stick next to the radio. Maybe something can be done with that as well.

Most importantly, how do you get that dash piece off?
Start on the passenger side of the car and take of the small lower dash trim off. I don't have it pictured, but when you look inside your car on the passenger side, that small piece that you need to remove first will be obvious. After that, start pulling the bezel off from the right to the left. It's all plastic clips holding the bezel on; there are no screws or bolts.

Keep a set of needle nose pliers or tweezers handy because the little yellow and blue clips on the plastic tabs like to fall behind the dash and get stuck, but they can be easily grabbed with those tools.

Ok so now that a few of you on here have had your nguage for a couple weeks, how do you like it and was it worth the little extra cash over then x4. Just wondering since I just placed my order last night for that and a painted jlt intake from lethal performance.

You think wrapping the case with a large rubber band (or a few) will work?

Yes I do. I wrapped a couple layers of electrical tape around mine and it actually made the nGauge sit fairly snug in the center AC vent. I still secured it with a bit of black silicone rtv from the back in a way that I can easily peel it off. Rubber bands would probably keep it pretty snug.

I just got my converted Lund tune via email and I have tonight off, so I will be putting my car's dash back together and routing the OBDII wire to the nGauge tonight. Will have pics posted tonight or tomorrow.

**Side note**

Updating the firmware on these devices is a breeze. You can either pull the SD card out and jam it into your PC (provided you have an SD card reader), or plug a USB cable (not provided) to the front of the nGauge to access the SD card files. Contrary to what the products directions may say about updating (it will tell you to go to the E-Motion website for support), the Lund Racing website has the most up to date software and background skins. Simply a matter of download, drag, and drop. I even created a new folder on the device to store old firmware files. Your custom tunes are dragged into the 'Custom Files' folder and your stock files are held in the.... wait for it..... 'Stock Files' folder. Pretty simple set up.

I'll be around later; gotta take care of my youngins for a bit.
