I think I’ve decided to get a PMAS/Lund combo.

The transmission mapping is the primary reason I want a tune. Throttle response is terrible in normal mode, so I drive in S+ all the time. However, I don't like the transmission mapping in S+. It makes the 2-3 shift around 32 mph in normal driving. Virtually every local city speed limit is 30 mph, so it is constantly shifting between second and third gears. I have gotten to the point that I drive in manual mode 90% of the time, which sort of defeats the purpose of buying an auto.

My main question is regarding snow/rain mode with the Lund tune. Is snow/rain mode still really lethargic with the tune? Winter is coming soon, and the Mustang is my DD. I have another car to drive in major winter weather, but it’s a miserable thing to drive, so I don’t drive it unless I know snow is coming. Illinois weather is unpredictable, so there will be times I'll get caught in snow in the Mustang. From my understanding, normal mode with the Lund tune is at least as responsive as the stock tune in S+ mode, which might be a handful in snow.

I've also considered the option of spending the extra $100 on the no-tune PMAS so I could reload the stock tune for the winter, and then flash the Lund tune back in the spring. As long as the snow/rain mode is still lethargic with the tune I shouldn’t need to.

Thanks!

The snow/rain mode still neuters the throttle response with the tune. I have the flex fuel tune.

After getting a Lund tune, I had an issue with the transmission constantly shifting between 5th and 6th at 40-45mph which is 90% of where I drive. They worked with me on it until I wad happy. Make sure you start a service ticket and log pointing out any issues you have. They will get you what you want.

Most of my commute is in the city. I prefer driving in snow mode during rush hour.
