My understanding was that headers by themselves will not add drone - but basically amplify whatever your currently have.

I have read a number of people complaining about drone on mbrp - so maybe it is there but you don't really notice it? If so, headers may make it more prominent.

Maybe I'll just swap to different mufflers then.

100% correct mbrp drone without headers...it'll amplify with.

MBRP Race does have drone on the 3.73 GT and definitely on my GT. I have a convertible but it has the 3.31s. When I first got the headers it droned like crazy. There was this really loud hum. Almost deafening. And I'm not exaggerating at all. The Verts have way less sound deadening than the hardtops do. The hum is about as loud as if the radio was almost all the way up. But these exhaust systems do eventually break in and the sound changes. So if you get a system that seems unbearable at first, I'd say give it a couple months or a couple thousand miles to see how it changes.

I have the MBRP street catback and I wouldn't classify it as drone, but I suppose that's subjective.
To clarify I've heard the Race system only by mbrp and it drones pretty good...but your right all exhaust is subjective..

I have the MBRP street catback as well. I don't hear any drone at all. I'm just afraid the it will drone after LT's are installed.

I've modified the exhaust more times than I care to and my honest take on what I have done is this. Started with MBRP street catback and it had no drone...zero deep pleasant sound at idle but a raspy sound above 4000 RPM which is the reason I started modding it. Next I went with MPRP catless long tube headers after that volume went through the roof at cold starts and anything above 4k and rasp remained but oddly enough not much drone
at highway speeds. Next I added MBRP resonators just behind the h-pipe it reduced sound level some and reduced some rasp but still too loud and raspy for me. Now for the major change in the modding was I cut out the MBRP mufflers and replaced them with Mangnaflow 12229 mufflers...big difference for the better. Rasp almost eliminated, sound volume down to where I like it and very very little drone. Needless to say I am done and happy so leaving it alone!!! That is my experience guys...

I just had my BBK LT's installed with off-road mid pipe which flows into a Ford Racing X-Pipe and Ford/Borla Sport (GT350) Exhaust...I think it sounds great. At WOT it is screaming LOUD!!!! I will see how many how many complaints I get from the neighbors and HOA :ford:

I'd have to give a vote for Corsa. I mean I have the Xtremes with Kooks at the moment, and even though everyone talks about how loud it is, it's so manageable. I had another passenger in the car who knows exactly what my exhaust system sounded like without headers and they only noticed it to be a little louder until I went past 3.5k or so RPMs and then WOT. Sounds exactly the same on cold starts and everything. Pretty sure the sports would sound great too.

I ended up going Stainless Works with the xpipe. It was a toss up between the SW and Corsa. I just haven't been able to hear a lot of exhaust options in person around here so it was tough. I am having the tips powder coated and then it should be on next week. I will do a comparison video
