All my previous cars used to come up with some sort of warning when the washer fluid level was low, except this 2015 Mustang apparently. I just run out of washer fluid on the middle of the road without any kind of warning... Shall I expect something wrong with my car (sensor failure, etc..) or this warning is really not implemented?

I don't have an answer for you, but it's a better situation that my old 2000 Ford Expedition - it had a low washer fluid alarm that would go off whenever it was below half full.

It did not have a low fuel alarm, and the gas gauge was not accurate by about 1/8 tank. Only times (yes, multiple:p) besides high school that I've ever run out of gas was in that truck

Of course, I'm here in Florida, so running out of washer fluid usually just means we have to look past splattered bugs. I know up north your visibility can go to zero quick, so it is def an issue for you.

There is no warning light. I always keep a gallon of washer fluid in the trunk. Just seems like the logical thing to do.

I have one in the trunk too, but it happened without warning in the middle of the highway. My windscreen went from clear to black in no time, luckily I was near to an exit....

Windscreen? That must be a Canadian thing. Interesting.

Everybody but Americans call it a windscreen; only in America is it "windshield."

U.K.; Ireland; Belize; Australia; New Zealand... all windscreen.

Some things sure are different. Living in the deep south, I had my 2005 mustang and NEVER added windshield fluid in the 10 years I had it. I might spray once a year just to see if the emitters still worked. I expect in northern climes you must have to check it/top it off at least weekly.

Now about that Headlamp and Blinker Fluid, my 2015 seems to be drinking that stuff!

It snowed yesterday, cars are splashing salt and slush all over on the highway... I have to wash my windSHIELD in every minute or two...

You must have gotten the long-bed extended trunk option on your Mustang. You've got everything besides the kitchen sink and a body in there. :)

I normally keep about 100 pounds of emergency gear in my trunk on a permanent basis*; it doesn't weigh anything down to any noticeable extent.

* - Hydraulic jack; x-bar wrench; jumpers; battery starter; road flares; reflector triangles; tow ropes; trench shovel; funnels; rags; zip ties; space blankets; first aid kit; gallon of anti-freeze; gallon of washer fluid; few quarts of motor oil; gallon of water; air compressor; duct tape.
Same reason I carry around an air compressor and a floor-jack and a set of road flares and triangle reflectors and an 18 inch socket wrench and tow straps and and a trench shovel and jumper cables in my trunk all the time. I don't trust the flimsy jack and wrench that come with the spare tire. You hope that you'll never have to use it, but it's nice to know it's there.
If it's a limited-speed, limited-distance spare, then I'll be getting a full-size spare to keep in the trunk (not in the spare tire well, just in the trunk) so that I don't have to worry. I already got a pump and a floor-stand two-ton pump jack to use instead of the regular screw jack, along with a 4-way tire iron to carry around in the trunk.

When I sold my 2001 Mustang I think the factory fill washer fluid was still in there-that car never seen the outdoors between Oct 31st and May 1st

Screens let things through, shields stop things. I'm sticking with shield is correct... :D

I carry a lot of stuff around but it's not very bulky, except for the fluids. The jack, jumpers, compressor, starter, flares, x-bar, triangles, tow-rope, rags, zip-ties, space blankets, 18 inch wrench, and first aid kit all are packed in a small duffel bag; I could probably fit the trench shovel in there with it but I keep that in the back seat at the moment in case I need to dig out and can't get at the trunk. The fluids are all bouncing around back there; should probably get a box or something to put them in.

It does let things through - light... It screens out the wind and water, etc, but mainly wind because that happens constantly when you drive.

I don't know in what war-zone that keeping a gallon of washer fluid in the car in case you run out is the right thing to do. In that rare instance you might run out of washer fluid, constantly carrying around enough to COMPLETELY refill the washer several times over is overkill. You might as well carry ten gallons of oil and a 44-gallon drum of fuel too, just in case... Maybe keep a cup-full to get you home, or better yet just deal with having no fluid (oh the humanity!!!) until you get home. This seems like the right thing to do.

There was a day when cars had wooden wheels and no windscreen or seat-belts. Nowdays it seems some people will get their car towed home if a bug gets splattered on the bumper...
