Low oil issues

One thing I have noticed is a shop will come back to you and say "uh sir, you want full synthetic and this takes 10 qts, we only cover 5 qts, so it will cost more" LOL. I nod and say I know. They then come back and break the price to me, and I say I know lol.

I just swapped to 5W-30, came home, it sat about 20 mins and I checked. The level is perfect.


I get free dealer changes, because the Full syn ran me $138. I generally check our car's oil level every 2 weeks. Overkill, but I have OCD.

If the dealership gave you a free oil change(s), if you ask, some will just give you the oil and filter for you to change it yourself. I've done that a couple times.

BTW, the dipstick is your friend.
