Ran on eighth mile track last night and the car feels noticeably down on power the first 4000 RPM in low gear and then picks up a lot the rest of low and feels fine from then on through second, etc. The car ran two to three tenths faster last fall. The car is all stock except for the Rousch CAI. and the JMS Pedal Max added over the winter. The launch feels pretty good but it then falls on its face till 4000. As as side note is there a commonly recommended spark plug for the v6. I'm going to pull them and check the gaps just for grins! Am I going to have to get a tune to resolve my problem?:frusty:

Everything I read on the 2015 Mustang V6 it's a dog intill 3000 Rpm's. How ever I installed the JMS PedalMAX then got a SCTx4 from SCT direct in Sanford, FL it comes with preloaded 87, 91, 93 tunes and you can go into the menu and advance your RPM's at idle, park, nautral and redline also if your a auto the shifting firmness from factory 0 to +25% in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25. It's a couple bucks more but you getting more than just 93 tune you have control of the in puts. The pedal max and tunes work very well together I'm very quick off the line or a stop to top end redline at 7200 RPM's.

Sorry, it's an auto, 315 gears and it ran a best of 9.51 and a worst of 9.70, trap speed was 75.25 to 75.74. Last time I ran it, last year in the fall, it went 9.40s with one 9.38. Another thing I forgot to mention was when I left the track the air conditioner was still running, could that make that much difference. Also I was running with Traction control off and in Sport mode but not using the paddle shifter.

USMCv6 If that's true then it must be something Ford did with the tune cause neither my 2011 or 12 had any such problem.

Yeah the v6 isn't much off the line until you get a tune to give it some torque down low where it needs it.

^^^ This. The traction control needs to be fully defeated.

When the ABS Module detects wheel spin, it will first send a networked message over the CAN bus to the PCM to pull timing and reduce throttle angle. That will usually eliminate the wheel slippage being detected.

If the wheels continue spinning (such as in the snow), the ABS Module will then command the HCU pump on and provide pressure to the rear brake calipers to slow the spinning wheels.

Since you were on a dry track, the PCM may have been pulling timing and throttle angle without you even realizing it, as the only symptom would be a loss of power.

As for the A/C, the PCM will open the A/C clutch relay when it detects Wide Open Throttle (WOT) conditions. However, it is unknown how your aftermarket Pedal Max interrupts the APP signals to the PCM, so it's entirely possible that the A/C remained on during your runs.

Pushing the traction control button until the light comes on isn't everything, right. So is the procedure for fully defeating the traction control in the owners manual? And thanks for the info on how all this stuff works, I don't think Ford trusts me with this car.

Were you getting any wheel spin? What was the DA difference between your two runs? A lot of guys were running their best times in the fall so maybe it is performing the same but the weather is making it slower, and making it feel slower.

The factory tune blows, especially in 1st gear. Ford pulls power out in 1st gear. Its reaaal noticable especially with a MT.

Yes I did have wheel spin, and wheel hop. Course wheel hop is normal for Ford isn't it? I understand DA and the effect it has on performance, and I wouldn't expect the car to run exactly the same even two days in a row. Much less four months apart. It's not so much that it was slower, it was how it felt. Felt good right out of the gate then just fell on it's face until about 4K RPMs then just took off again. Bad DA would make a car feel more lethargic all the way through the run, if it were even noticeable.

I think your right, I'm going to have to get a tune, but whose! Kind of leaning toward Unleashed cause he's been there for us when no one else seemed to care about v6s, As far as the Trac Control I did push the button until the warning light came on in the dash. I just don't understand what FordTechOne meant by saying the Traction Control must be fully defeated?

No wonder my manual V6 feels slow at traffic light. :D

I know I know, I am not pushing the gas pedal hard enough. But the factory tune is to blame too, at least partially.

The A/C has a clutch and slips at high RPM's. Yes, it was Ford V6 stock and any test I've read said the same thing it does make HP in till after 3000 RPM's

When your racing and want to turn the track control system totally off pull fuse 72 Rain Sensor Module. I had to pull it when I had my dyno tested.
