Hello all,

I am just here for some opinions on some exhausts. I am looking for a exhaust that does not have any rasp or drone. Looking for an exotic sound but not overly loud to wake the dead. Something smooth and louder than stock. Look at ford racing but sounds like it has some rasp in it. Corsa Touring sounds good, but may be a little too loud can't really tell over a youtube video as close up.

Thanks for opinions in advance.

My previous car was 350z with invidia gemini loved the sound of that. Was sad when i traded it in lol, but that only lasted about 10 minutes.

The unfortunate thing is exhaust opinions vary greatly with every response. I like a deeper tone with no rasp but to me that could be too quiet or not aggressive enough for others. I've watched the videos in the exhaust thread multiple times and have talked to a few vendors and I still haven't made up my mind.

I'm with you but some actually most it seems like it obnoxious... Corsa seems to be a happy medium though. I have flowmaster and it's low and not raspy at all but I have a stock res. I will probably change it.... Many times

Yeah I'm torn, I want to hear the new Pypes h-box catback that's listed on Lethal's website. Pypes has the x-box catback video on their site and it sounds pretty good but I'd rather have the tone of an H.

you're gonna have rasp especially with x pipe or double x...that's what makes it exotic lol.

but if you don't want rasp getting exotic will be tougher because you'll have an hpipe setup.

I have Kooks cat back with H pipe ,nice deep sound , just a little drone over stock .A little loud at start up but once the cats warm up there fine. Wife would like it a little louder but is happy we can talk and hear the radio. Had Flowmaster outlaws series on our 08 GT/CS and couldn't hear because of the drone. I'm happy with the Kooks.

I'm thinking of going with either the FRPP X pipe or Lethal Racing's X. Not sure if there's really any difference in the two, but for $220-ish, you can't really go wrong. And you lose a few pounds. The next step IMO would be the MAK catted piping off the factory exhaust manifolds.

I got the CJPP X-Pipe for a bit less than $220.

Sounds good, I wish it was louder! Probably would have gone MBRP Street if I could turn back time, oh well.

I wouldn't recommend installing just an Xpipe with the stock mufflers. It will sound very raspy. I was planning to do this but hated the way it sounded. I think the manaflow street or Borla Touring would be exactly what you are looking for as far as sound.

if you don't want rasp go h pipe. maybe h pipe and touring by borla or even corsa.
or deal with the sound level and go h pipe and roush. but if you have an x pipe youll rasp more then you would with h.
actually, look into MBRP street.

I love reading these threads. I'm thinking nothing would sound bad to me, but want to drop some pounds -- from what I can tell the FRPP x-pipe (-15) combined with the SLP loudmouth (AM claimed -29), for a total weight savings of 44lbs. That said, the thing has to be livable. I'd like it to be a little louder than stock, or and be able to quiet down when at idle, or being driven carefully. One guy on here with a white GT got a muffler shop to weld up some parts from Summit Racing for an all-in cost around $250 -- very reasonable, but he admits it's loud enough to wake the dead. For a few more pounds, the FRPP Touring looks like a good balance, but then looking at the aesthetics, I love how some of the systems with 4.5" tips look -- I wonder how the FRPP Touring compares to the Magnaflow Street...

I'll check out the Magnaflow, but maybe the H pipe resonator delete by Lethal is the way to go. That thing has got to go either way.

Get the Corsa Extreme! Just had mine installed today and I AM IN LOVE! Seriously at 3k and under RPMs its pretty mild/quiet-ish. Unless you push the throttle then thats when itll really get vocal.

Its the perfect exhaust for the new stang.

I LOVE MINE.
