I know MAV has been putting up a map from the vin list. Yes, as I understand these are not retail orders. these would be in process, in transit, at plant cars right now.

I'm not sure of the accuracy of that map. My car actually shows up (matching VIN's) on the map.

Dealer ordered or retail doesn't mean the car isn't a "customer order" and already spoken for. I know of one on here as well that's sold.

The local Ford dealer ordered a GT350 to my specs but they ordered it for inventory rather than putting my name on it. That car shows up on this map. So yes, custom ordered cars show up, but every car is custom, right? They are configured in some specific way based on what the dealer decides to order. Either the decision is based on a specific customer's input, or it's what the dealer decided independently to do.

I think what doesn't show up are the cars that were ordered with a customer's name on the order form.

Like most of you already know a stock order does not mean a car is available. A lot of dealers do not order "retail" cars or order type 1. Is there a valid reason? Perhaps, but I don't know it.

The retailers will progressively increase the number of instock, unsold, available, GT350s as time passes. Ford has been delivering these cars for only a week and there are already GT350s looking for an adopter. This really flies in the face of the self proclaimed experts who have preached shortages and the justification of dealer price gouging. The truth here will be abundantly clear even to the misinformed in a short period of time.

The point here is that all the GT350s slated for production at this time are obviously NOT spoken for which is in direct apposition to the prevailing wisdom on some enthusiast web sites that has some potential buyers believing that there will never be enough GT350s to go around. That is total BS and abundantly clear one week into the delivery phase. It is really about common sense and not what anyone pays for the car.
