Livernois tune users

I would like some feed back from guys/gals using Livernois' tune and intake. I have had both installed on my GT PP for the last 1000 miles (in which it ran flawlessly) and today while traveling on the highway my car had the "wrench" light go on. Immediately the throttle response got all wonky and I had no power. I also would get a good buck when I let off throttle.

The dash read "check owners manual" which I did however I couldn't find anything about the "wrench light" in it. I made it off the freeway and the throttle response got worse (barely drivable). I pulled over and turned the car off for a few minutes and when it I turned it back on the wrench light was gone and I had no further issues during my 25 miles of driving.

A google search of the light indicates a tune+CAI issue but does not directly say what the issue is. I read my ecu and it showed 0 codes. Has anyone else with Livernois' set up ran into this? What causes this? maybe fly by wire throttle not matching throttle position? Any additional info would be appreciated as my car runs fine now and I'm not sure if it was a fluke thing.

PS I checked all the hose fittings to the intake and they were all snug.

I have never run into this issue. Maybe just a splash of bad gas.

Maybe. I did just fill up before my trip. It didn't feel like a mis, it felt more like a vacuum leak with no CEL.

It is not probable that all of a sudden the tune would cause the car to act up like that. Even more so that there would be no CEL or anything.

Bad fuel sounds like the most likely culprit, because the tune ran perfectly for so long. A tune wouldn't just change, if a tune is off it would've been off from day one.

I have full confidence in livernois and don't belive it's a tune issue. I drove 25 miles after it cleared up and it was as powerful as ever. I will pm my info just in case.

I've been told that the gas lines hold approximately 7 min of gas (don't know if this is true or not) but after filling my gas I had the issue within 7-10 min so it could be that. However it still didnt feel like a miss.

Press the sync button and just say run vehicle health report. Make sure your phone is in the car. Once it's deal you will get a email from car telling what's wrong. I once had the wench light up after tune/jlt install. email just said to check fluids. Gas had ran low and car kicked on the wench.

For the 11-14 models the wrench light and poor driveability indicated an issue with the throttle body. Most times it would occur once or twice then never again for the life of the car. If it becomes more often get it diagnosed at your dealer. Try and capture it on video if possible.

For my sake, I hope it does not return. If it does I will my best to make a recording of what the symptoms are. The best way to describe it in terms of my car experience is almost like pulling a battery lead on a tuned turbo car and then immediately reconnecting and driving it. The throttle is delayed, over exaggerated, and at times erratic. From a stop it would rev from 800 to 2000 just trying to start from a light. very weird.

Thats weird u said that my car has been tuned for 4 months now and 0 issues not 1.Two days i was getting gas it was pretty low and after getting gas when i started the car it stalled out 3 times.I had to keep some throttle to keep it running the fourth time.Car ran fine and when i got home i shut it off and it started perfectly 3 times in a row and has not done that again since.Just so no one says i was out of gas the computer said i had 50 miles to empty.

PINPOINT TEST AN : THE POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION (WRENCH) RTT (RECONFIGURABLE TELLTALE) IS NEVER OR ALWAYS ON AN1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

• Ignition ON.

• Close all doors, the hood and luggage compartment lid.

• Clear all message center warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.

• Monitor the door ajar RTT.

• Open the driver door.

• Clear the message center popup warning.

• Monitor the door ajar RTT.

Is the door ajar RTT off with the door closed, and on with the door open?

Yes GO to AN2 No INSTALL a new IPC.
REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) (413-01 Instrumentation, Message Center and Warning Chimes, Removal and Installation).


AN2 PERFORM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

• Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC in this section. No GO to AN3

AN3 PERFORM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST

• Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes
REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, Diagnosis and Testing).
No GO to AN4

AN4 PERFORM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) KOEO (KEY ON, ENGINE OFF) SELF-TEST

• Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes Refer to the appropriate section in Group 303 for the procedure. No GO to AN5

AN5 CHECK THE GWM (GATEWAY MODULE A) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

• Using a diagnostic scan tool, check the GWM Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs).

Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes
REFER to: Communications Network (418-00 Module Communications Network, Diagnosis and Testing).
No If the powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT is never on, the system is operating correctly at this time. There are currently no vehicle concerns present that require the powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT display.
If the powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT is always on, INSTALL a new PCM. Refer to the appropriate section in Group 303 for the procedure.

I highly doubt its the tune.. be careful making threads that directed at companies with great reputations before you know for sure whats causing the concern. Thread should read IE: " Wrench light came on"??? etc etc... j

It's wasnt meant to be aimed at livernois in a negative light. I specifically named them as I have their tune and their intake. I wanted the advice and knowledge of those using the same setup. My best google search corrolatedcorrelated the wrench with tune+intake. I wasn't ranting that it was livernois' tune causing the issue.

But thank you for that procedure to check the system.
