Fair enough, my fitting was £60 though, so £90-ish total (especially now the pound to dollar is weak as p*ss).

From your pictures, your vinyls look really good (hence why I went with Anchor Room in the first place). I was unlucky and disappointed that with mine, the cut just isn't right. I cant fault the fitter - it just clearly isn't a good measure, don't know why?

I'm hoping with the lacquer painting that it'll be a similar red, but offer a little more transparency, allowing the internal detail of the light casing to be a bit more visible also.
I think it'll work a charm to be honest (Lquering) but they'll be irreversible, which is my only quarm with it!

Quick question - and possibly a stupid one.
I didn't do a good job of installing some Anchor Room tints however it became obvious quite quickly that they weren't giving me the look I wanted so I didn't persevere. I may try again with darker tints and next time I may well take the whole shebang to a wrapping company and have them do it right...
However in the meantime I was thinking of trying out the remaining tints I didn't use on the sidemarkers/reversing lights/etc. I want to replace the sidemarkers with the LED ones but Diode Dynamics are still quoting 1-2 weeks due to redevelopment, three weeks after they originally quoted 1-2 weeks, so no telling how long that'll take.
Sorry, this question got a bit longer...
Anyhow, I was wondering if part of the reason for my screw-up was a less than aggressive use of the heat gun. Is there realistically any chance of damage to paintwork, plastic or the vinyl by overheating? I mean the thing is designed to remove paint ;)

In short, yes.

Too much heat will cause the vinyl to bubble, flex, and in some cases flake. It can also cause the adhesive element to 'clump' and won't be evenly spread. The wrap company used the heat gun on my tints for no longer than 5 seconds at a time. and only used the head to wrap the vinyl around the edges, the main (visible back facing) light hub was never heated when putting on, just at the end to seal. it in and that was a breeze up/down/left/right -> onto the next one, again no longer with 5 each time

Use a hairdryer, much less aggressive than a heat gun and provides more than enough heat

yeah hair dryer is a good shout as well, just don't put any of them weird nozzles women put on them. Make sure it's quite warm outside so the amount of heat is minimal as possible!
