Can someone recommend a light polisher? Want to do a light polishing on my brand new CO after I clay it and prior to putting the rejex sealant. Thanks

I went with chemical guys. I got the clay bar, towels, pads, and the VSS scratch and swirls removal since the paint is very new. It only needs that extra push. It's going to be a loooong weekend

Even though the paint is new, you could have deeper swirls than you think. Did you instruct the dealer not to clean it for you?

Up to you, and what you feel you need. IMHO, get a decent flashlight got swirl finding, buy the towels with out edging on it. The edging it another source to create swirls.

Have fun detailing it. That's one of the things I enjoy a lot! You also get to know your car that way! One thing you might do, if you google new car prep, or new car paint, you can find some great material to read and videos to watch about preparing news cars. Enjoy your long weekend.

I've got one of these as well. They're pretty cheap and you'd REALLY have to work at it to damage your paint with it.

For tougher jobs, I use one of these:

This one requires more care. You CAN burn the paint if you're not careful with it.

This is the polish I use:

Enjoy your weekend. :)

I know what you are saying. When I washed my car last, I noticed some very light swirls, nothing crazy, but that's the first thing I thought. I should have told the dealer not to wash it. I did tell them to remove that stupid "Koons" dealer sticker though. But yes, I got those premium towels from CG as well. I think I will go ahead and the that random orbital. it might be worth the investment and time

Ha...I happened to be standing there when some guy walked over to my GT with the sticker in hand to apply it. I said "Excuse me" and when he turned around to see what I wanted, I took it out of his hand, crumpled it up, and said "No thanks." :)

I did the same thing a few minutes earlier when one of the sales guys approached the front bumper with a plastic license plate bracket and a screw gun. I kept the bracket "just in case" and sent him away.

The Menzerna works great on swirls and light scratches. Very very fine cut.

Just thought I would give a quick update. Thank you all for the feedback. I spent Friday (5+ hours), and Saturday (2+ hours) detailing the car. I did the wash, clay (CG blue clay), polish with orange pad (CG VSS), and coat of Rejex sealant. And another coat of Rejex Saturday. Took her out today and took a couple of pics.

Looks pretty good! If you put a top coat of something like the CG Butter Wet Wax (which is likely the same as the Butter wax from Adams Polishes) a day after the sealant hardens, you'll get that "yard deep" shine that looks like you can put your hand into it. When i had lots more time, I'd do the sealant (Menzerna FMJ) every 6 months and then the butter wet wax monthly. The monthly wet wax is a quick 1 hour job, but it wears off after about a month.

Isn't that the truth! Holy cow, it pulls every spec of dust out of the air like a magnet!

Not much you can do about it. You could TRY waxing it or perhaps shooting it with a coat of some super smooth clear coat (and then waxing it).

I use a low tech solution....I keep a microfiber towel in the car with a spritz bottle of detail spray. Every other day or so, I spray it and wipe off the dust.

Its funny bc i requested this and they did it anyway. Silicone junk on the wheels i need to scrape off and got some white wax on the black plastics. There was one spot i wanted them to look at and they brought out their "detailing guy" to figure out if it was in the paint or clesr coat he decided to use compound on it with a dirt rag. Instantly put scratches in the paint. Im so pissed i dont like to think about it. The dealer would do nothing for me bc i took a few weeks to make the 2 hour trip to them.
