LH Hood Corner Sits Low

I tried searching on any info, didn't find a real answer. I'm pretty happy with all the panel alignments on my GT, but did notice that the LH front corner (driver's side) of the hood sits down lower than the fender where they meet right at the front of the fender/hood. The rest of the hood seems to fit nice and flush/level all along the fender from the driver's door until it gets right up to the LH corner of the hood. It's almost like the very corner of the hood is curved down just a hair too much. The front RH corner of the hood matches the fender perfectly.

I see there is a rubber bumper near that area, so maybe raising the bumper a little bit on the LH side might improve this issue? Anyone else notice this? I see the same thing on many new Mustangs on the lots ... kind of like the same issue of they all have the upper LH corner of the rear window that sits a bit lower than the RH upper corner to some degree.

Yep. Mine was a bit low too. Try adjust the bumper.

Yeah, mine has that too. Noticed after the first wash, when the towels kept snagging it. The bumper adj, doesn't help. It just throws the middle section of the hood way up above the fender line and looks worse.

Best option I had was to open the hood and with the meaty section of my palm take my time and gently bend that edge down towards headlight. So far, so good.

Both sides of mine were flush straight from the factory, however the hood would not close when dropped from 1 feet, I had to drop it from 3 feet to close. After adjusting the bumper stops it would close from 1 feet but then then both corners were not flush with the hood after it was closed. So re-adjust the bumpers and they are now flush. I'll have to manage dropping the hood higher to have flush corners.

Well, I gave the bending trick a try and couldn't get it to move much, if any ... still looks the same. The front corner of the fender moves when I push it down with the palm of my hand, but it just springs back. I also tried to push down at the end of the flange just in front of where the forward most fender bolt mounts the fender. I could see the front tip of the fender moving down when I pushed down hard on the flange area just in front of the bolt ... but again, it would just spring back. Don't know how you guys got yours to actually bend down some and stay there.

I think I'll just leave it alone, as I've learned the hard way that if you keep messing with something too much, it's probably gonna get worse.

It took some time. It wasn't a one push deal. More massaging it kinda thing.

Here's a photo of the LH (driver's) side and RH (passenger's) side. You can see from the reflection of the small ruler in the paint that the LH fender sits up quite a bit from the hood's surface. On the RH side, the hood and fender corner fit nice and flush.

I tried carefully bending the LH fender's front end downward, but it would just spring back. As others have mentioned, if I raise the bump stop on the LH side of the hood, it's just going to make the whole hood stick up above the fender line all the way back to the door.

I think the problem is some of the driver side fenders don't get shaped exactly right at the front tip/corner, and this is what happens when the panels are aligned. The rest of the hood aligns pretty well every where else besides at the front end corner of the LH fender.

Can you explain maybe in more detail how you got yours to bend down and stay down even with the hood? Mine just springs back because I think it's hitting the top of the headlight before it takes a set. I'm wondering if some of it is the corner of the hood being bent down too far also (?).

Mine is low too. My drivers fender was out with a wide gap between it and the hood, and the hood was low in front and the hood was above the fender 1/3 of the way back. I ended up pulling up and out on the wheel well to fix the fender, and then I adjusted bumpers, latch and the front edge of the fender to get everything lined up.
